You Are Not Your Situation

Wednesday, October 18, 2023 – The Direction of Your Armor

In Ephesians 6, we’re told to put on the armor of God: the breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with sandals of the gospel, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit. Notice that it all faces forward, nothing faces backward. If you’re going to become victorious in God and win your battles, you have to also face forward. Don’t run back, look behind or retreat, but move forward continuously. Paul said, “Forgetting what lies behind, I press on to what lies ahead.” Press on to higher ground, looking forward in hope. Be a forward looking person. Press on to greater challenges, holiness, godliness, faith, love, prayer, power and greater Messiah likeness. The victory in God lies only ahead of you and all your armor is made for it. Only by going forward and moving forward will you have victory and you will, but press on. The victory is guaranteed, but you just have to press on. You’ll win the race, but you just have to keep going and press through. For the victory of the armor is assured, but only in one direction-forward.

Suddenly, verse 26, great earthquake.
So the foundation of the prisons were shaken Immediately, all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chain was loosened.
Suddenly, There’s a whole lot of shaking going on in that prison.
Greek word here is the word seismists, seismos like seismic, a seismic event, which in Greek could mean commotion, gale, storm, earthquake, how god uses even the natural realm How you know, we don’t know.
I don’t we don’t know. He just said that, you know, it it may be that it was all gonna happen at that moment, but god was weaving Paul and silence to the very spot and the very thing.
God uses even the weather. God uses all that.
God used the weather to get me all could you well, to get me to a plane and get somebody else off his plane and kept getting canceled to get on to my plane, he could give me a word that led the harbinger to become a book.
It was the rain. God’s the weather man.
Think about that, you know, it the it looked see, it looked like it was they’re in a helpless situation, but their god is controlling the earthquakes for their benefit.
That’s not helpless. It may look. You you sound like you might feel helpless. Remember this.
They couldn’t be more helpless in being in chain in that prison, and yet god is working the seismic, uh, the the the geology of this world altogether.
That’s more powerful than anyone. No billionaire could could arrange that.
Jeff Bezos can go into space, but he can’t do that.
And the foundations of the prison were shaken.
The foundation, you know, that tells you how powerful praise really is.
It it it shakes the foundation of bondage. Look at that.
Power of praise breaks bond breaks the foundation of bondage. Maybe you’re dealing with a bondage in your life.
Power of praise breaks the foundation of bondage. Not only the chain, but the foundation.
And all the closed doors are open. That’s what praise does. Closed doors open with praise.
And every chain is loosen power of praise. Paul and Silas took the most contrary action.
And they opened up the door for a miracle.
God loves it when you praise him when you don’t feel like it.
God loves him when you praise him when you’re the worst situation and yet you praise him.
And notice what happened. When the people were throwing them into jail, notice how what their accusation was.
It said, these men, Jews, being who they are, caused trouble.
Real anti semites here, but but think about that. The word Jew in Hebrew is yahoodi.
Yahoodi comes from the word yahoodah. Yahoo Dah means praise.
The Jew, and you, if you’re born again, you are spiritually Jewish, You are it says a Jew is born to praise god.
You are spiritual. You are born again to praise god.
That’s So it says being Jews, it says Jews being who they are. Prazers of god.
So we throw them in prison, but being who they are, they praise god in prison.
So we don’t understand if they’re in prison, but they praise Not because because you don’t praise god because of where you are or what you’re in or or, you know, what he just did for you, what he did for you, give him thanks and praise him, but that’s not just why you praise god.
You praise god because you are born again to praise god.
So it doesn’t matter what the circumstances, that’s the victory. Don’t let circumstance change who you are in god.
Being who they are, being who I am, I must praise god.
All these are going this this going wrong, this going wrong, but being who I am, I praise god.
You know, we often confuse the outside with the inside. You know, How’s your day?
Oh, I’m having a bad day because why? Cause this went bad. This went bad. That’s the day.
That’s not you. That might be the prison, but that’s not you.
The lord said you are the light of the world.
If the light doesn’t shine when it’s dark, then it’s not a light. You shine because you’re a light.
You don’t shine because you’re not a mirror.
You don’t re you don’t shine light because there was light shine on you.
You shine because you’re a light from god.
Being who they are, not being where they are, being who they are.
Where you are doesn’t matter, wherever, wherever, god, but it’s who you are and who’s with you.
The one you pray, the one who praises god no matter what, that’s the one god says, well done.
Well done. You sing. You praise no matter what.
We were we were in Central America, and we went to I’m not gonna go to the full survey, but they booked us.
They didn’t realize what they booked us in a hotel, and I realized there’s something wrong in this hotel.
It turned out they booked us in a house of ill repute.
I’m not gonna go into it. It’s funny now. But at the time, everybody’s panicking.
Oh my god. We don’t. You know, and and and we’re in this and that’s what it went.
And and and we said, what are we gonna do when we everybody’s anointing everything, everything, the naught in the knobs, anointing the people, anointing, everything you could was anointed.
And and then let’s say, no one’s guys working on. We’re getting you into another hotel. Okay.
I always said, no. No. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. We’re on a mission. We’re here to be lights. Right?
So let’s let’s be lights here.
So we started we had a worship service in the House of Irpruit.
And as we were worshiping god in the midst of the courtyard, one of the prostitutes came to the lord.
And by the end of it, the guy who ran it came to the lord, and they were crying when we left.
And waving with the with their bibles in their hands. Don’t let the circumstance change you.
You change the circumstance in god.
You love those who love you? That’s your amira. Love those who don’t love you.
You’re a light. You see people, you know, we see people who have been wounded by others.
You know, we know people wound others. It may be.
God knows your wounds, but Paul and Silas was certainly wounded.
A lot, but they don’t respond to they don’t they don’t focus on the wounds.
They focus on the one who is greater than the wounds.
You gotta focus on the one who’s greater than your wounds.
Poland Cyrus worshiped god because they’re worshiped as a god.
So it doesn’t really matter whether they’re in a in a temple, sanctuary, or in prison. It doesn’t matter.
We we we’re not you have to wait to have a reason something good happens, so I’m gonna praise god.
You praise god because of god, and you are his child. Lights of the world.
You don’t shine when the room the just when the wait for the room to be bright.
That doesn’t mean anything. You shine when it’s dark. The most opposite is where you’re power.
And so if things in in the world are get are going darker, don’t fear it.
It’s gonna bring out that it’s gonna show the light. That’s it. That’s when the light shines the brightest.
