God by God | Jonathan Cahn Sermon
God by God
. . và tình yêu là Chiên Con.”
– Jonathan Cahn, The Harbinger II: The Return
But it goes further because people don’t just swear, people will swear on things.
In other words like this, like someone saying, I swear on my grandmother’s grave. Ok? What is that?
I swear on everything I have, I swear on. What’s that?
When you swear on something, it’s like you’re offering up that something as collateral. I swear by this.
You know, if I’m not telling the truth, may this be taken from me or I lose this?
I’m using this, which is of such great value to me and I’m applying it to my words.
I wouldn’t do that. I’m backing up my words with that.
When you take a loan, you promise to pay it back, but you may be asked to put something down like collateral.
In other words, if you can’t put it, pay it back, the bank takes your house or does something.
So I swear by this means a lot. You are putting up that for collateral.
So it’s not just saying you’re promising you’re, you’re, you’re, you are swearing on something and you are putting that up.
So God not only speaks, not only promises, not only he’s swearing, but he’s actually going to swear on something.
You know, it says, you know, it says like, don’t, when it talks about swearing, don’t, don’t swear on this and this and this and this.
Remember when, when the Lord spoke about that? Well, well, what is the Lord gonna swear on?
It’s gonna be, it’s not gonna be riches. I mean, what is that to him?
What is the, what is riches to him? Because he can’t make riches any second. He owns everything.
Anyway, people swear on something that’s greater than they are, but there’s nothing greater than God.
So there’s only one thing God can swear on and that’s God himself.
So that’s what it says in Hebrew six when God made a His promise to Abraham because he could swear by no one greater.
He swore by himself. God swearing by God. Wow.
Now it’s in your bible but not as you just read right over that. Wow.
And it goes on saying verse 14 saying indeed I will greatly bless you, Abraham and I will greatly multiply you your seed.
So ha so having patiently waited Abraham, he obtained the promise for people swear again an oath by one greater than themselves.
And with them, an oath serving as a confirmation is the end of every dispute, but God could not swear by anyone greater.
So he swore by himself. So Hebrews is referring to a time when God swore by himself, not just making a promise.
This goes farther. Of course, when God says that it is, but this is farther because God chose to do that.
