Cultivating Courageous Faith: Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional – October 10, 2026
If your heart feels a little worn, a little unsure, or even a little afraid today, you are not alone. So many of us wake up with questions: Will God really come through? Does He see what I’m walking through? Is He still writing something good in my story? Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that even when your emotions feel shaky, your God is not. He is steady, present, and closer than the breath you’re taking right now. As you read and pray, imagine the Holy Spirit sitting with you, lifting your head, and whispering, “I’m here. I’ve got you. Keep going.”
Anchored by God’s Word in Uncertain Times
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse doesn’t promise paths without pain, but it does promise direction in the middle of confusion. Your understanding is limited; His wisdom is eternal. When you lay down the need to control, explain, or fix everything yourself, you make space for God to lead. Trust here means leaning your full weight on Him—heart, mind, expectations, and fears—believing that He can carry what you can’t.
Living Surrendered in the Everyday Moments
Trusting God is not only for crisis moments; it’s for school drop-offs, commutes, emails, kitchen counters, and late-night worries. Today, spiritual growth may look like pausing before you react, asking, “Lord, how do You want me to respond?” It might look like forgiving the person who wounded you, or choosing to worship when you’d rather complain. Faith deepens when you consistently invite God into ordinary spaces. You grow not by feeling strong, but by admitting weakness and leaning into His strength. As Pastor Craig Groeschel often says, “You don’t have to have great faith in God; you just need faith in a great God.”
Lord, Grow My Faith and Steady My Heart
Father, today I bring You my doubts, my fears, and my hopes. Strengthen my faith to trust You beyond what I see. Help me to believe that Your Word is true even when my circumstances shout the opposite. Teach me to hear Your voice, follow Your leading, and obey You quickly and joyfully. Shape my character. Grow in me the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I surrender my plans to You and ask that You align my heart with Your purposes. Draw me closer to Jesus, and let my life reflect His grace and truth.
Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You right now. Wrap them in Your presence and fill our home with peace that pushes out fear, conflict, and anxiety. Heal broken relationships, soften hard hearts, and restore what has been damaged by harsh words or hurtful choices. Give us grace to listen, courage to apologize, and humility to forgive. Protect our marriages, strengthen our parenting, and surround our children and grandchildren with godly influences. May our home become a small sanctuary where Your love is felt, Your name is honored, and Your joy is evident.
Health, Healing, and Holy Strength
Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. Where there is sickness, bring healing. Where there is chronic pain, bring relief and fresh hope. Where there is exhaustion, renew strength. Calm every anxious thought and quiet the storms inside my mind. Help me to care for this body You’ve given me—with wisdom, rest, good choices, and discipline. Heal emotional wounds, trauma, and hidden grief. Let Your resurrection power flow through every cell of my body and every corner of my heart, and remind me that nothing is beyond Your touch.
God’s Provision for Work and Daily Needs
Father, I place my work, career, and finances in Your capable hands. You are my Provider, not the economy, not my employer, not my bank account. Open doors that no one can shut, and close doors that are not from You. Give me excellence, creativity, and integrity in everything I do. Bless the work of my hands so I can be generous, not fearful.
