Parents, especially fathers, are tasked with instilling faith, virtue, and biblical wisdom in their kids. The stakes couldn’t be higher. The stability and future of both the family and the nation depend on each generation remembering and honoring God’s commands. As believers, we must also safeguard the “ancient boundaries” (Proverbs 22:28), those godly traditions that provide foundation and protection in a changing world.
The Importance of Remembrance and Teaching
The Bible tells us over and over again more than 360 times to remember. Remembrance isn’t just nostalgia; it’s a call to anchor our present decisions in what God has already shown us. It also means teaching. Teaching reinforces learning not only for the student but also the teacher. Whether you’re leading a Sunday school class, coaching a kids’ team, or simply mentoring a young person in your life, you are called to disciple others.
Disciple the Next Generation It’s On Us
Every Christian has the opportunity and responsibility to pour into someone younger in the faith. There’s no escaping the fact that we live in a fallen world everyone is either going through trials, just coming out of one, or about to enter one. What sets believers apart is the choice to let God use those trials for good, to let pain shape us into more compassionate leaders and spiritual parents for the coming generation.
If the health and future of the nation concern you, don’t waste energy simply complaining about culture. Invest your energy in raising up godly children, teaching biblical worldview, and discipling those in your reach. This is the “blocking and tackling” of faith. It may seem simple or tedious, but it’s the foundation that will truly shape the future.
Man’s Laws vs. God’s Laws: Where Do We Stand?
America once experienced a unique era where man’s laws closely reflected God’s laws a time built on a biblical worldview, as emphasized by figures like William Blackstone, John Locke, and Charles Montesquieu. Blackstone, whose legal commentaries shaped America’s early legal system, famously wrote: “No enactment of man can be considered law unless it conforms to the law of God.”
Today, we’re witnessing laws that contradict God’s heart. From redefining marriage to diminishing the sanctity of life, we see measures that violate His intentions. Christians, motivated by a desire to be good citizens, are wrestling with where to draw the line. But Scripture is clear: “It’s better to obey God than man.”
The Founders’ reliance on Scripture wasn’t accidental. More than 34% of their quotes came straight from the Bible. If we want peace for our children, as promised in Isaiah 54:13, we must ask, “Do our children have peace today?” Unfortunately, much of that peace has been lost because we no longer share a common biblical moral code.
The Erosion of the Family and Moral Confusion
Our society suffers because we’ve neglected the family and handed over its responsibilities to screens and schools. The family is the cornerstone of every great civilization, and when it’s weakened whether by busyness, brokenness, or cultural deception the effects ripple outward. Birth rates decline, chaos increases, and young people lose their sense of purpose and identity.
It’s not enough to rail against the indoctrination happening in schools and universities. If we want to see a change, we must return to the basics: teaching our children and grandchildren the truth, investing in their spiritual formation, and modeling what a Christ-centered life looks like.
The Power of Daily Obedience even When It’s Drudgery
Let’s face it raising kids, nurturing faith, and living out Christian values can sometimes feel tiresome.
