A Prayer For Back To School Season x Sarah Jakes Roberts
When under pressure, a choice arises: will you surrender to anxiety and fear, or will you surrender to God? He knew this moment would come at this exact time in your life, long before you were even formed in your mother’s womb. By choosing to trust in Him, you not only set yourself up for success, but you also provide an example for your child to look up to. Remember, God is with you and with your child. I was asking God how can we best prepare these your sons and daughters for going back to school and God gave me Joshua 1 and N this is not an unfamiliar scripture for you some of you may be but just so you know Joshua is entering into a new level of responsibility and whenever we’re going back to school no matter where you are on the scale you cannot deny that you’re taking on a new level of responsib responsibility and sometimes it’s exciting sometimes it’s scary the fear of failure the fear of
rejection being overwhelmed and being stressed I imagine that these are all of the things that Joshua was experiencing and in Joshua 1 and N the Lord tells him to be strong and courageous do not be frightened and do not be dismayed for the the Lord your God is with you wherever you go you’re going back to school but God is going with you you’re going into that classroom but God is going with you you’re going to get that degree some of you breaking generational curses by going to get this degree God is
equipping you now to introduce generational blessings into your family and I just want you to know that that is not your weight alone that God’s going to help you carry this weight as well so when I was looking at these words be strong and courageous I just wanted to tell you all that being strong when going back into an academic environment is not pretending that you know everything and that you have it all together sometimes being strong is just resisting the temptation to quit when things are hard sometimes being strong is having
the discipline to protect your morals and the focus to achieve your goals is going to take intentionality I want you to be courageous enough to ask for help I want you to be courageous enough to remember who you are in every circumstance and environment I want you to be courageous enough to understand that your worth is not connected to those grades that means if you do well you’re still worthy and if you’ve got some growing to do you’re still worthy because you are who you are regardless of what those papers say so you can be
courageous enough to ask for the help and support that you need says do not be afraid and do not be dismayed man there are so many things to be afraid of do I have what it takes am I safe but the Lord is going to be with you everywhere you go and so I want to speak a blessing over you I want to pray over you as you prepare your heart and mind to receive all that God has for you this school year holy spirit you’ve already seen this school year play out you already know what we’re up against and you know
what demand it’s going to take from us God I thank you that you are giving these your sons and daughters the strength they need to show up in the spaces and places where you have assigned them to receive all that you have on the inside of them I thank you God that you made us a promise that the mind that was in Christ is available to us and so I speak Jesus over their minds I speak retention over their mind I thank you God that they’re teaching and their principles and their support systems are going to be able to mold the
system in order to meet where they are instead of trying to force them to fit within the system God I thank you for creativity I thank you for Innovation God I thank you for courage I thank you for brilliancy I thank you God that as they are moving into these School environments that they are not moving on their own because there is a hedge of protection around them I thank you for protecting them from danger seen and unseen I thank you for drawing the right people to them and subtracting the wrong people away from them I thank you God
that you’re going to give them a support system I thank you God that they’re going to have safe spaces I thank you God that somebody’s going to see the potential that you placed on the inside of them I thank you God for tutors coming from any everywhere I thank you God for mentors coming from everywhere and I thank you that every seed you have placed on the inside of these your sons and daughters are going to take root and produce fruit I thank you for the generational blessings and Seed form I thank you that when somebody graduates
with that paper that there will know be if I graduate I thank you God that they’re going to walk across that stage I thank you God that they’re going to break that Spirit off of their family the spirit of we cannot do the spirit of inadequacy and I thank you God that they’re going to do it with joy and no pressure and devil I rebuke you I know you already have plans for this school year but I speak Jesus over their school houses I speak Jesus over their principles I speak Jesus over over their minds we bind depression in the name of
Jesus we bind Suicidal Thoughts in the name of Jesus we decree and declare that we have set them apart a brain struck out of the fire and I thank you God that no weapon formed against them or Prosper I thank you for parents with Insight I thank you for teachers with wisdom I thank you for a system that is going to recognize that this is not a regular child but this is a child of the most righteous high God I thank you God for marking them I thank you God for covering them I thank you God for blessing them I thank you God for giving
them everything they need in order to succeed and I thank you for the Educators that are standing in the Gap God give them strength give them patience give them resources and wisdom and God help them to understand that as they are standing in the Gap that we’re standing in the gap for for them as well I thank you God that you will be with them everywhere they go so make them sensitive to your presence in Jesus name I pray amen amen can you help me just celebrate all of these Brilliant Minds going back to school
