Trusting God in the Middle of the Unknown – Tony Evans Daily Devotional October 26, 2026

If you are reading this today, God has already carried you through more battles than you can count. Some you saw. Many you didn’t. Maybe you woke up this morning with questions about your future, worries about your family, or a quiet ache that you haven’t even been able to put into words. The Lord sees all of that. On this October 26, 2026, He invites you to lean into His presence, to breathe, and to rest in the truth that He is not shaken, even when everything around you feels uncertain. This devotional is a gentle reminder that you are not walking through this day alone—your Father is right here, and His hands are steady.

Anchored By a Sure Word

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NASB)

These verses call us out of the prison of our own limited understanding. We like to know the “why,” the “how,” and the “when.” But God is asking for something deeper than partial trust; He wants our whole heart. When we acknowledge Him—in our planning, in our fears, in our everyday routines—He promises to direct our paths. That doesn’t always mean an easy road, but it does mean a guided one. He sees the full map when all we see is the next turn. Today, you can relax your grip on the need to control and allow His wisdom to lead your steps.

Walking Steady When Life Feels Shaky

Life in the United States can move at an exhausting pace—bills to pay, deadlines to meet, kids’ schedules, and constant news cycles that stir anxiety. In the middle of this noise, God invites you to slow your soul. Spiritual growth rarely happens in the rush; it grows in the quiet places where you choose to trust Him, even when the answers are not yet clear.

Today, choose one place where fear has been speaking louder than faith. Maybe it’s your job security, a medical report, a strained relationship, or the future of your children. Instead of rehearsing worst-case scenarios, pause and verbally surrender that area to the Lord. Speak it out: “Jesus, I give You my concern about ______. I choose to trust You with this.” This simple act becomes a spiritual turning point—a doorway through which God can bring peace, clarity, and unexpected strength.

Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to You today choosing faith over fear. Build in me a deeper trust that does not depend on what I see or feel. Grow my spiritual roots so that when the winds of life blow, I will not be uprooted. Teach me to recognize Your voice above all the competing voices around me.

Lord, stir up a hunger for Your Word. Give me a heart that delights in Your presence, not only on Sundays, but in the quiet corners of every day. Where my faith has grown tired or cold, breathe new life. Replace doubt with confidence in Your character, confusion with the light of Your truth, and weariness with the strength of Your Spirit. Guide my thoughts, guard my heart, and align my desires with Your will so that my life reflects Jesus more clearly.

Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace

God, I lift my family and loved ones before You. Cover our homes with Your peace. Where there has been tension, bring understanding. Where there is distance, draw hearts back together. Heal old wounds, soften hard places, and teach us to speak life to one another.

Surround spouses, children, parents, and relatives with Your presence. Protect our marriages, strengthen single parents, and comfort those who are lonely. Let forgiveness flow where bitterness has tried to settle. Fill our homes with prayer, laughter, and compassion, and let Your love be the atmosphere we live in each day.

Health, Healing, and Renewed Strength

Lord, You know every ache, diagnosis, and hidden worry about our health. I ask You to touch bodies that are weak, minds that are overwhelmed, and hearts that are burdened. Release Your healing power, whether through miracles, medicine, or wise decisions. Grant rest to those who are exhausted and calm to those battling anxiety or depression.

Help us care for the bodies You
