Kathryn Kuhlman Daily Devotional – October 18, 2026
Right where you are today—maybe at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, maybe in your car before work, maybe lying awake in the middle of the night—the Lord sees you. Kathryn Kuhlman often said, “The Holy Spirit is more real than the person sitting next to you,” and that same Holy Spirit is near you now. This devotional is an invitation to step out of fear and into the living presence of God, to expect His power and tenderness in the details of your life. You are not forgotten, not invisible, not beyond His reach. As you read and pray, let your heart open wide to the God who still heals, still restores, and still does the impossible.
Anchored by the Word in Every Season
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) This verse carried Kathryn Kuhlman through criticism, disappointments, and the weight of ministry. The Jesus who healed the sick, comforted the brokenhearted, and forgave sinners is unchanged. Culture shifts. Emotions rise and fall. Bank accounts fluctuate. Yet Jesus remains steady, faithful, and full of power. When we feel like everything is moving under our feet, this verse pulls us back to solid ground. The same Jesus who met people in crowded streets and lonely rooms meets you today—in your doubts, your exhaustion, and your hunger for more of God.
Living Expectantly in Ordinary Moments
Kathryn never wanted people to focus on her; she wanted them to expect God. She often reminded believers that miracles happen when ordinary people dare to trust an extraordinary God. Today, in your errands, emails, and conversations, you can live with holy expectation. Ask the Holy Spirit to make Jesus real in your commute, your work meetings, your parenting, your quiet moments. Instead of rehearsing worries, whisper, “Holy Spirit, I give You every part of this day.” Choose to speak life over your situation. When anxiety shows up, answer it with the promises of God. When discouragement knocks, remember that God is not finished with your story. Faith grows not just in church services but in parking lots, break rooms, and late-night tears. Expect God there.
Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender
Father, in Jesus’ name, I come to You just as I am. I confess the places where my faith feels thin, where I have allowed doubt and fear to speak louder than Your Word. I choose today to trust You again. Holy Spirit, breathe on my heart; awaken fresh hunger for Your presence. Teach me to lean on Jesus, not on my own strength or understanding. Where my spiritual life has grown dry, pour out living water. Stir in me a deeper love for Your Word, a tenderness in prayer, and a willingness to obey even when it is hard. I surrender my will, my opinions, and my timelines. Let my life reflect the beauty and power of Jesus, not just in big moments, but in the hidden, quiet spaces of every day.
Grace Over Every Home and Relationship
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones before You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, every need for healing. Bring Your peace into our homes and hearts. Where there is division, sow reconciliation. Where there is silence, create safe spaces for honest conversation. Cover marriages with Your wisdom and gentleness. Strengthen parents and comfort children. Surround single men and women with godly friendships and a sense of belonging in the body of Christ. May our homes become sanctuaries of Your presence—places where forgiveness is offered freely, encouragement is spoken often, and Christ is honored above all. Let Your love drive out fear and insecurity in every relationship connected to my life.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Soul
Jesus, You are still the Great Physician. I bring my health and the health of those I love to Your throne of grace. Touch every aching joint, every troubled organ, every hidden condition. For those battling chronic pain, depression, anxiety, or weariness, release Your healing power. Restore sleep, renew strength, and calm troubled minds. Where doctors see limitations, let Your wisdom and presence bring breakthroughs. Grant discernment for treatments, medications, and lifestyle changes. Let Your comfort surround those walking through long-term illness, and remind them they are not alone. Strengthen our bodies to serve You, our minds to focus on Your truth, and our emotions to rest in Your unfailing love.
