John MacArthur Daily Devotional – October 15, 2026
As you wake up to this new day, you may be carrying quiet questions in your heart—about your future, your family, your health, or the state of our nation. Perhaps you love Christ, yet still feel the pull of anxiety and the weight of responsibilities pressing in. Today, be reminded that God has not called you to walk this road alone. He has given you His Word, His Spirit, and His promises that cannot fail. Wherever you are reading this—from a busy kitchen table, a parked car on your lunch break, or a quiet corner before bed—the Lord sees you, knows you, and invites you to rest your heart fully in Him.
Anchored in Truth: Today’s Scripture
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV)
This promise is not just poetic language; it is a rock-solid reality for every believer in Christ. Perfect peace does not mean a life free from storms, but a heart guarded by God in the midst of them. The key is where your mind rests. When your thoughts are anchored to God’s character—His faithfulness, His sovereignty, His unfailing love—peace becomes more than a feeling; it becomes your steady position in Him. Today, God invites you to shift your focus from what you cannot control to the One who controls all things.
Walking by Faith in the Ordinary Moments
In the busyness of American life, faith can easily become something we talk about on Sundays but struggle to live out on Mondays. Yet spiritual growth happens most deeply in the ordinary routines—during the commute, while paying bills, in conversations with our families, and in quiet moments of decision. Trusting God is not abstract; it is intensely practical.
When worries flare up, you can pause and breathe this simple prayer: “Lord, my mind is yours. Help me stay on You.” When you face uncertainty, you can remind yourself, “God has carried me this far; He will not drop me now.” As you choose to filter your thoughts through God’s promises instead of your fears, you will find that your reactions begin to change. Patience replaces impatience. Hope pushes back despair. Courage rises where you once felt weak. This is how the Spirit shapes Christlikeness in us—small, daily steps of trust.
Drawing Near in Faith and Spiritual Growth
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my faith, however weak or strong it may feel today, and lay it before You. Strengthen my trust in who You are, not just in what You give. Where I have allowed doubt, disappointment, or past wounds to harden my heart, soften me again by Your grace. Teach me to delight in Your Word, to listen for Your voice, and to obey You promptly, even when obedience is costly. Grow in me a deeper love for Christ, a clearer hatred of sin, and a stronger desire to please You in every part of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit’s power so I do not live by my own strength but by Your life in me. Shape my priorities, my habits, and my desires so that my entire life brings honor to You.
Covering Our Homes in God’s Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You today. Bring Your peace into our homes, our conversations, and our relationships. Heal places where hurtful words or misunderstandings have caused distance. Give us humility to apologize, courage to forgive, and patience to listen. Protect our marriages, guard our children, and guide those in our family who have wandered from You. May our homes be marked not by tension and fear, but by prayer, kindness, and grace. Let Your presence be felt in every room, turning our houses into places of refuge where Christ is honored and love is genuine.
Seeking Healing, Strength, and Wholeness
Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician. I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. Where there is sickness, bring healing according to Your will. Where there is chronic pain, give strength, relief, and perseverance. Where there is anxiety, depression, or emotional heaviness, shine Your light into the dark places of the heart. Help me to steward my health wisely—to rest when I need rest, to nourish my body, to seek help without shame, and to remember that my worth is not defined by my physical condition. Let Your peace guard my mind, and
