Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – October 15, 2026

If your heart feels a little tired today, you are not alone. Maybe you’re carrying silent worries about your family, your health, or how everything is going to work out. As you read this devotional, imagine Jesus sitting right beside you, listening carefully to the things you don’t even know how to say out loud. Today is not just another date on the calendar; it’s another invitation from God to breathe, to receive His love again, and to remember that He has not forgotten you. This moment is holy ground in the middle of a very ordinary day, and the Lord is leaning in with compassion, ready to meet you right where you are.

Anchored in a Promise

“For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11, CSB) God first spoke these words to His people when they were far from home, discouraged, and confused about their future. They felt abandoned, but He reminded them that His plans were not canceled. This verse isn’t a shallow slogan; it’s a deep, steadying promise from a faithful God. Even when life feels off the rails, God’s purpose for you is not broken. He is not improvising or panicking. He has a plan for your well-being, and He is working—often in ways you cannot see—to bring hope and a redeemed future out of what feels uncertain right now.

Walking with God in the Ordinary Moments

Most of our spiritual growth doesn’t happen on mountaintops; it happens while we’re doing dishes, answering emails, running errands, and folding laundry. God is not only present in church on Sunday—He is present in the school pickup line, the hospital waiting room, the office cubicle, and the grocery store aisle. Today, invite Him into the details: “Lord, be with me in this meeting. Strengthen me in this conversation. Calm my heart during this drive.” When anxious thoughts crowd in, whisper, “Jesus, I trust You with this.” That simple sentence can become a lifeline. Open your Bible—even for five minutes—and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one word or phrase to carry with you. Spiritual growth is not about perfection; it’s about daily surrender, one small obedient step at a time.

Growing Faith in a Faithful God

Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift my faith before You today. Some days it feels strong, other days it feels thin and fragile, but You said that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. I’m asking You to grow my faith, not by giving me a trouble-free life, but by revealing Yourself more clearly in the middle of my circumstances. Teach me to lean into Your Word instead of my feelings. Help me to trust that You are good, even when my situation is not. Remind me that You are writing a bigger story than what I can see today. Strengthen my spirit to say “yes” to You again and again. Let my doubts become doors that lead me closer to Your heart, and let my questions draw me deeper into Your presence. Shape me, refine me, and mature my faith so that my life reflects Your kindness, courage, and hope to the world around me.

Covering Our Homes with Peace

Lord Jesus, I place my family and loved ones in Your caring hands. You see every argument, every misunderstanding, every unshed tear. Where there has been tension, bring tenderness. Where there has been distance, build new bridges of grace. Heal broken relationships and soften hardened hearts. Let our homes be filled with Your peace, not just polite silence but real, healing, life-giving peace. Protect our marriages, strengthen single parents, comfort the lonely, and surround our children and grandchildren with Your presence. Give us wisdom in our words, patience in our responses, and humility to apologize and forgive quickly. May our homes be safe havens where Your love is felt, spoken, and demonstrated in everyday acts of kindness.

Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul

Heavenly Father, I bring my health to You—every ache, every diagnosis, every hidden fear. You are the God who heals, restores, and renews. Touch my body with Your healing power. Guide doctors, nurses, and every healthcare worker involved. Strengthen my immune system, calm my nervous system, and restore what has been damaged or worn down. For the places
