Priscilla Shirer Daily Devotional – October 13, 2026

As you wake up to this October 13, 2026, I want you to know: you are not unseen, and you are not forgotten. God has His eye on you this very moment. Maybe you woke up with worries about your family, your health, your bank account, or the future of our country. Maybe your heart feels tired from battles that seem to have no end. Yet right here, in the middle of it all, the Lord is inviting you to lean in close, breathe deep, and remember that He is still on the throne, still speaking, still working, and still faithful. This is a day He has already stepped into ahead of you. You are not walking into the unknown; you are walking into a day already held in His hands.

Anchored in God’s Unshakable Promise

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)

This verse is not a poetic wish; it is a promise. Perfect peace doesn’t mean a life without pressure; it means a heart that is guarded while the pressure comes and goes. God says that as your mind is fixed on Him—on His character, His Word, His faithfulness—He Himself will hold you steady. Peace is not something you must manufacture; it is something you receive as you choose trust over fear. Today, every time anxiety tries to creep in, you can turn your mind back to this promise and whisper, “Lord, my mind is on You. Keep me in Your peace.”

Walking Out Trust in the Everyday Moments

Trusting God can feel abstract until it touches the real corners of your life—when the bill arrives, when the child rebels, when the doctor calls back, when the news is unsettling. Trust becomes real when you choose to say, “God, I will believe You right here.” Today, consider one specific area that has been stealing your joy. Instead of replaying worst-case scenarios, pause and invite Jesus into that place. Open your Bible, even if for just a few minutes, and let truth overwrite the noise. Call a godly friend, ask for prayer, and refuse isolation. Put worship music on during your commute. Turn mundane moments—washing dishes, folding laundry, walking the dog—into whispered conversations with your Father. As you do, you’ll find that trust grows not in the absence of problems, but in the presence of a faithful God.

Drawing Near in Faith and Growing Deeper Roots

Lord, I bring my faith before You today. Strengthen what has grown weak and water what has become dry. Teach me to trust You when I do not understand Your timing. Grow my roots deeper into Your Word so that when storms rise, I am not easily shaken. Replace my doubts with reminders of Your past faithfulness in my life. Ignite a fresh hunger in me to pray, to listen, and to obey quickly when You speak. Help me surrender my plans, my expectations, and my timelines, believing that Your way is better and Your heart toward me is good. May this day become a step forward in my spiritual growth, not a step backward into old fears.

Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace

Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our homes with Your presence and fill every room with Your peace. Heal broken relationships, soften hard hearts, and mend what has been torn by harsh words or misunderstandings. Protect our marriages, our children, our parents, and our closest friendships. Bring unity where there has been division and gentleness where there has been tension. Teach us to speak life over one another, to forgive quickly, and to serve each other with humility. Let our homes become places where Your love is visible, where prayer is natural, and where every person feels safe, seen, and cherished.

Health, Healing, and Strength for the Journey

Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I place my body, mind, and emotions before You. For every headache, diagnosis, and hidden pain, I ask for Your healing touch. For anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion, I ask for Your restoring power. Give me wisdom to care for my body—healthy choices, good rest, and the courage to slow down when needed. Strengthen my immune system, steady my heartbeat, calm my thoughts. Where there is fear of bad news, replace it with confidence in Your nearness. Whether You heal instantly or through a process,
