Christine Caine Daily Devotional – May 30, 2026
If you woke up today feeling a mix of hope and weariness, you are not alone. Maybe you’re believing God for a breakthrough but still staring at the same bills, the same diagnosis, the same strained relationship. On days like this, it can feel easier to expect more of the same than to believe God for something new. Yet this very moment—right now, where you sit with your coffee, your questions, and your quiet prayers—God is inviting you to trust that He is doing more than you can see. Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that your story is not stuck and your future is not finished. God is still writing, still moving, still making a way.
Seeing Beyond What You Feel
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19, NIV)
God didn’t promise that there would be no wilderness or wasteland. He promised that in the middle of them, He would make a way and bring refreshment. This verse calls us to shift our focus. Instead of staring at what looks dry and impossible, God asks, “Do you perceive it?” In other words, “Will you look with eyes of faith?” The new thing God is doing may begin beneath the surface—inside your heart, in your mindset, in the way you see Him and yourself. Hope grows first in the soil of trust, long before circumstances change. Today, God is inviting you to believe that He has already started a new work in your life, even if you can’t fully see it yet.
Choosing Trust in the Middle of the Unknown
Your life may not look “new” right now. You might be moving through a familiar routine: commuting to work, caring for kids or aging parents, chasing deadlines, or quietly battling private fears. Yet spiritual growth often happens in exactly these ordinary spaces. When you choose to forgive instead of holding a grudge, that’s new. When you decide to worship instead of worry, that’s new. When you open your Bible instead of scrolling endlessly, that’s new.
Ask God today, “What new step of obedience are You inviting me into?” Maybe it’s reaching out to someone you’ve avoided, making a wise financial decision, starting counseling, or simply carving out ten minutes of real, honest prayer. You don’t have to manufacture a big spiritual moment; you just have to say yes to God’s whispers. Each small act of faith turns your wilderness into a pathway and your wasteland into a place where streams of grace begin to flow.
Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender
Father, today I choose to trust You more than my feelings. Strengthen my faith where it feels thin and tired. Help me surrender the parts of my life I try to control—my plans, my timelines, my need to understand everything. Teach me to lean on Your promises when I cannot see the outcome. Lord, grow my roots deeper into Your love so that when storms come, I remain steady and secure in You. Stir up a fresh hunger for Your Word and Your presence. May my thoughts, choices, and desires align with Your heart. I open my life to Your refining work. Break off fear, doubt, and hopelessness, and replace them with confidence in Your character. Even when I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Today, I say yes to whatever You are doing in me and through me. I trust that You are leading me, step by step, into the good plans You have prepared.
Covering Your Home With Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every unspoken need, every secret worry, and every hidden pain. Bring peace into our home and into our hearts. Where there has been tension, let Your love soften us. Where there has been distance, create new closeness and understanding. Protect our marriages and relationships from division, unforgiveness, and negative influences. Give parents wisdom to guide their children, and give children hearts that are soft and responsive. Surround our households with Your presence so that our homes become places of safety, joy, and encouragement. Restore broken relationships, heal old wounds, and rewrite family stories with Your redemption. May our homes be marked by faith, laughter, and the peace that only You can give.
