Welcome to Enjoying Everyday Life with New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer! In today’s episode, Joyce will be teaching from her Bible study on the book of Ephesians. Ephesians is incredibly practical, filled with profound lessons on faith and offering guidance for our lives as followers of Christ. Through her teaching, Joyce helps us uncover who we are in Christ and how we’re meant to live as His people.

As Joyce begins, she highlights the power of Ephesians 1:4-5, saying that if you’re feeling down, this passage can lift you up. It says, “In His love, He chose us, picked us out for Himself.” Take a moment to repeat this: “God chose me.” Isn’t it beautiful to realize that God selected each of us for Himself before the world was even formed? He calls us to be holy, set apart for Him. God doesn’t expect us to produce anything without His help—He loves us first, and only then does He call us to love others. To truly give to others, we first need to spend time receiving from God, allowing His love to fill and heal us. As Joyce explains, we need to become whole inside before we can reach out effectively.

Ephesians 1:6 reminds us that we are “accepted in the Beloved.” This is a powerful truth, especially for anyone who has experienced rejection. Often, people try to earn acceptance from others, even bending themselves to avoid rejection, but in God, we are already fully accepted. Through Jesus Christ, we have redemption, forgiveness, wisdom, and understanding. And it’s all ours in Him!

Another key part of Ephesians discusses the mysteries of God. These “mysteries” are divine revelations that God enables us to understand. Ephesians 1:3 and 1:14 emphasize that when we believe in Him, we are “sealed with the Holy Spirit.” Just like a quality product may bear a seal of approval, this seal of the Holy Spirit marks us as belonging to God. In ancient times, lumber from places like Ephesus and Corinth was marked with a seal by its owners, ensuring it was untouchable until collected. Likewise, we are marked by the Holy Spirit—a seal that declares, “Property of Jesus Christ.”

So, remember, you are marked, loved, and chosen by God. When life gets tough or the enemy tries to shake you, stand firm, knowing whose seal you bear!
