The prophets foretold many events that Christians today witness, particularly when we hear news about Israel. Every mention of Israel in the headlines is a fulfillment of prophecy, a living miracle, and evidence of the God of Israel. One of the key Jewish holidays, known as the Feast of Ingathering, or “Hag Assaf,” holds deep revelations about the end times. Let’s explore how this festival relates to the world and its future.

The Feast of Ingathering symbolizes a global gathering. According to biblical prophecy, in the last days, nations will come together, and the world will form into a unified state. We see this unfolding today through the rise of globalization. Just a few decades ago, it was rare to own products from different parts of the world; today, nearly everything we use is globally sourced. The internet has further connected us, creating what we call the “worldwide web,” making the world more united than ever before.

The Bible predicts that in the end times, a “one world state” will emerge, where nations come together as one. This began when Israel was reborn as a nation in 1948, just three years after the establishment of the United Nations. Around the same time, the foundation of what would become the European Union was laid—a development some Bible scholars interpret as the revival of the Roman Empire and the dawn of a unified world state. This is the era of ingathering, when God says He will gather the nations.

The Bible also reveals that in the last days, all nations will gather against Jerusalem. The Feast of Tabernacles, traditionally celebrated in Jerusalem, points to this prophecy. Zechariah prophesied that God would make Jerusalem a heavy burden for all nations, and any nation that tries to lift this burden will be hurt. Today, we see global attention focused on Jerusalem, a small city that holds tremendous significance. The United Nations continues to condemn Israel over its control of Jerusalem, just as the Bible predicted.

The Book of Revelation speaks not only of God’s gathering but also of demonic forces gathering the kings of the earth for battle against God and Israel. This spiritual warfare fuels much of the hatred against Israel, the Jewish people, and Christians. Revelation also mentions that the Euphrates River will dry up, allowing armies to cross—a prophecy that is unfolding today, as the river is indeed drying up.

The Feast of Tabernacles, or the final harvest festival, symbolizes the ultimate harvest of souls at the end of the age. Revelation 14 describes this final harvest, where an angel calls out to reap the earth’s harvest because the time has come. Just as in ancient Israel, the final harvest of the year was the grape harvest, this end-time harvest is a spiritual one, representing the culmination of God’s plan for humanity.
