Tim Sheets Daily Devotional – October 22, 2026
Some mornings you wake up with a quiet ache in your heart, wondering how everything is going to work out. Other days, faith feels strong and steady, like a flame that will not be blown out. Wherever you are on that spectrum today, God has not changed. His love for you is steady, His plans for you are good, and His presence is closer than your own breath. This devotional is an invitation to pause, inhale grace, and remember that you are not facing this day alone. The Lord is already in your future, already working in places you cannot see, and already preparing answers before you even form the words to pray.
Anchored in a Promise
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
This verse was spoken to God’s people while they were in a place they did not want to be. It was not written to people who had it all together; it was given to the weary, the displaced, the disappointed. God wanted them, and He wants you, to know that circumstances do not cancel His purposes. His plans are not fragile. Your mistakes, delays, and detours do not intimidate Him. Today, let this promise settle your heart: God has not forgotten you, and He has not misplaced your destiny.
Walking in Hope When Life Feels Heavy
Hope is not pretending everything is fine; hope is choosing to believe God is at work, even when everything is not fine yet. As you go through this day—driving to work, packing lunches, sending emails, sitting in waiting rooms—invite the Holy Spirit into your ordinary moments. When anxiety rises, whisper, “Lord, I trust Your plans for me.” When discouragement presses in, remind your soul, “God is not finished with my story.” You can take one small step of faith today: forgive someone, make that call, open your Bible, or simply sit quietly and let the Lord speak to your heart. Spiritual growth rarely happens in big leaps; it usually grows through daily, steady yeses to God.
Drawing Near in Faith and Trust
Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith, weak or strong, to You today. Help me trust You more than I trust my feelings, my fears, or the opinions of people around me. Strengthen my heart to believe that You are truly good and that You are working all things together for my good. Deepen my desire to know You, not just to receive answers from You. Teach me to recognize Your voice, to respond quickly when You nudge my heart, and to stand firm when the enemy whispers doubt. Let my faith grow roots that run deep into Your Word, so that when storms come, I will not be shaken but will remain confident in Your love and Your faithfulness.
Covering Our Homes with Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Surround our homes with Your peace and drive out every trace of tension, fear, and confusion. Heal broken relationships, soften hard hearts, and restore conversations that have been silenced by hurt. Help us to listen to one another with patience, to speak with kindness, and to forgive quickly. Protect our marriages, our children, our extended family, and those You have joined to our lives as spiritual family. Let our homes in this nation be small altars of worship where Your presence is welcome, Your Word is honored, and Your love is evident in the way we treat each other.
Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul
Heavenly Father, I bring my health before You. For the aches, the diagnoses, the chronic pain, and the quiet fears I do not always talk about—come with Your healing power. Touch my body with strength, my mind with clarity, and my emotions with Your calming peace. Break the grip of anxiety, depression, and exhaustion. Give me wisdom to care for the body You have given me—through rest, wise choices, and healthy rhythms. Renew my energy, steady my sleep, and fill me with the joy of the Lord, which is my strength. For every loved one battling sickness, let Your healing presence surround them today.
God’s Hand in Work and Provision
Lord, You see my work, my schedule, my responsibilities, and my financial needs. I ask You to bless the work of
