Holding Steady When Life Shakes: Daily Devotional with Pastor Greg Laurie – October 07, 2026

If your heart feels a little unsteady today, you’re not alone. Maybe you woke up with worries already waiting at the edge of your mind—questions about your future, your children, your health, your job, or that situation you still don’t see an answer for. Yet right here, in the middle of uncertainty, God is inviting you to lean into Him, to breathe, and to remember that you are deeply loved, fully seen, and never forgotten. Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that even when life shakes, your Savior does not. He stands with you, holds you steady, and walks beside you step by step.

Anchored in God’s Unchanging Word

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV)

When everything around you shifts, this truth stands like bedrock under your feet: Jesus never changes. His character, His promises, His love, and His power remain constant through every season. People change. Circumstances change. Feelings rise and fall like the tide. But Christ remains the same faithful Savior who loved you on your worst day and celebrated you on your best. This verse invites you to place your hope, not in what you can control, but in the One who already holds tomorrow. When fear whispers that you are alone, Hebrews 13:8 answers back, “He has not changed—and He will not leave you now.”

Walking by Faith in Ordinary Moments

Most of life is lived in the ordinary: the commute, the kitchen, the emails, the errands. Yet God does some of His greatest work in those hidden moments when no one else sees. Choosing to trust Him in the little things trains your heart to lean on Him in the big storms. Today, invite God into your everyday: into that tense meeting, that long to-do list, that difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding. Take small steps of obedience—offering forgiveness, speaking kindly when you’re frustrated, pausing to pray before reacting. Spiritual growth rarely happens in a single leap; it happens in the daily choice to say, “Lord, I trust You here, too.” As you do, you’ll discover that faith is not just for Sunday; it’s the steady rhythm of walking with Jesus through each ordinary moment.

Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender

Lord, I come to You today with an open heart. Strengthen my faith where it feels thin and fragile. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when I cannot see what You are doing. Help me to lay down my fears, my anxieties, and my desire to control outcomes. Grow in me a deeper hunger for Your presence—through Your Word, through prayer, and through quiet moments of worship. When doubts try to crowd my mind, remind me of Your faithfulness. When I’m tempted to give up, whisper hope to my soul. Shape my thoughts, my desires, and my decisions so that they reflect Your heart. I surrender this day to You and ask that You use every situation to draw me closer, stretch my faith, and make me more like Jesus.

Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace

Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Wrap them in Your protection and surround our home with Your peace. Heal any broken relationships, soften hardened hearts, and restore what has been damaged by words, stress, or past wounds. Let forgiveness flow freely in our conversations. Fill our home with Your presence so that it becomes a place of laughter, grace, and understanding. Guide parents as they lead, comfort children as they grow, and bring unity where there has been division. May our family reflect the love of Christ, choosing patience over anger, compassion over criticism, and encouragement over judgment. Let our home shine as a small light of Your kingdom in our neighborhood and community.

Healing for Body, Mind, and Heart

Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring my health and the health of my loved ones before You. Where there is sickness, bring healing. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion, pour out Your calming presence. Strengthen immune systems, renew energy, and guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with wisdom and skill. Give me the discipline to care for this body You’ve entrusted to me—through rest, wise choices, and healthy rhythms. When I feel weak, remind me that Your power is made perfect in
