Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 1, 2026: Trusting God in the Middle

If you’re reading this today, there’s a good chance you’re standing somewhere “in the middle.” The miracle isn’t here yet, the breakthrough hasn’t fully shown up, the story isn’t wrapped with a neat little bow. Maybe you’re in the middle of a health battle, a financial struggle, a strained relationship, or a quiet war in your own mind. Wherever you are, God sees you, God loves you, and God has not forgotten you. Today’s devotional is about learning to trust God in that middle place—right where life feels unsteady, uncertain, and unfinished. You don’t have to fake strength or pretend everything is fine; you can bring your whole heart to the One who holds the whole story.

Anchored in the Promise

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

This verse reminds you that God is not a starter-only God; He’s a finisher. He never begins a work in your life and then walks away when it gets complicated. Even when you feel stuck, God is still moving. Even when you can’t trace His hand, you can trust His heart. Philippians 1:6 is your assurance that your growth, healing, and transformation are not ultimately up to your willpower alone. The One who began the work of salvation, restoration, and calling in you will carry it—lift it, sustain it, and complete it. Your job is not to predict how; your job is to stay surrendered and believe He’s still writing.

Living With Faith in the Ordinary Moments

Trusting God isn’t only for the big crises; it’s for the everyday moments—packing school lunches, commuting to work, answering emails, paying bills, and walking through familiar doors that sometimes feel painfully ordinary. When you invite Jesus into your daily routine, your normal becomes sacred. Faith looks like whispering, “Lord, be with me in this,” before a tough conversation. It’s choosing to worship when worry comes knocking. It’s opening your Bible, even when your emotions are flat, and saying, “Speak, Lord. I’m listening.” Today, ask the Holy Spirit to make you aware of God’s presence in small things: a quiet moment in the car, a brief break at your desk, a laugh with your kids. These are not throwaway moments; they are places where God wants to strengthen your heart and build your trust.

Prayer for Deepening Faith and Spiritual Growth

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring you my faith—fragile in some places, growing in others. I ask You to deepen my trust in who You are, not just in what You do. Teach me to know Your voice through Your Word. Help me to thirst for Your presence more than I crave comfort or control. When doubt tries to dominate my thoughts, remind me of every time You have been faithful in the past. Lord, grow me in patience, humility, and obedience. Transform my reactions, renew my mind, and reshape my desires to line up with Your will. Strengthen my inner life so that my outer life reflects Jesus. I surrender my plans, my timelines, and my expectations, and I invite You to lead me step by step, day by day. Amen.

Prayer for Family and Relationships

Lord, I lift my family and every relationship connected to me. Bring Your peace into our home and hearts. Where there is tension, sow understanding. Where there is distance, build bridges. Heal old wounds, unspoken hurts, and silent disappointments. Teach us to listen well, speak kindly, and forgive quickly. Cover my spouse, children, parents, and loved ones with Your presence. Protect our unity from division, miscommunication, and the enemy’s lies. Let our home be a place of safety, laughter, prayer, and grace. Show me how to love like You love—sacrificially, consistently, and without conditions. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer for Health, Strength, and Healing

God, You are my healer and my strength. I bring my body, mind, and emotions before You. Where there is sickness, let Your healing power flow. Where there is fatigue, renew my energy. Where anxiety or depression has taken root, breathe peace and clarity. Align every system of my body with Your design. Give me wisdom to care for my health—my sleep
