Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 09, 2026

As you step into this day, you may be carrying questions that nobody else sees. Maybe you’re smiling on the outside but quietly wondering if God still has a good plan for you. This devotional is for that vulnerable place in your heart—the place where faith feels stretched and you desperately need fresh hope. Today, be reminded that God has not forgotten your address, your prayers, or your purpose. He is closer than your next breath, and He is working in ways you cannot yet see. Lean in for a few minutes, let your soul breathe, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak courage into you right where you are.

Anchored by a Promise

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, ESV) This verse invites us to move our weight off of our own logic and onto God’s wisdom. Trusting “with all your heart” means we surrender the urge to control outcomes and timelines. When we acknowledge God in our decisions, dreams, and disappointments, He promises to direct our path—not always quickly, but always faithfully. Today, instead of replaying worst-case scenarios, choose to say, “Lord, I don’t see the whole picture, but I know You do. I place my story in Your hands again.”

When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

Some seasons feel like a maze—doors closing, plans shifting, people changing. It’s easy to assume that confusion means God is absent. Yet often, He is quietly repositioning us for something better than we would have chosen on our own. When your understanding runs out, your faith is invited to rise. Take a moment to slow down and ask, “God, where are You at work in this?” You may not get every answer today, but He will give you enough light for the next step. Walk in obedience to what you already know: stay in His Word, stay in prayer, stay connected to His people, and keep your heart soft. That’s how spiritual roots go deep in real life.

Drawing Near in Faith

Father, today we choose to lean into You instead of our fears. Increase our capacity to trust You. Pull us closer to Your heart so we don’t mistake silence for absence. Strengthen our faith to believe that Your promises are still true even when our emotions are all over the place. Teach us to listen for Your whisper in Scripture and in the stillness. May our faith not be based on perfect circumstances but on Your unchanging character. Let this be a day where our trust in You becomes more real, more personal, and more resilient.

Grace Over Our Homes

Lord, we lift our families and relationships to You. Cover our homes with Your peace. For strained marriages, breathe new patience, honesty, and tenderness. For parents overwhelmed by responsibilities, give supernatural strength and wisdom to lead with grace. For children and teens, guard their hearts from confusion, anxiety, and destructive influences. Heal old wounds, unspoken offenses, and patterns of distance. Let forgiveness flow where bitterness has taken root. May our homes become places where Your love is felt in conversations, decisions, and even in the quiet moments. Surround our loved ones today with angels, with favor, and with a fresh awareness of Your nearness.

Healing in Every Broken Place

Jesus, You are still the Healer. We bring every sickness, diagnosis, and lingering pain to Your feet. Touch bodies that are tired, aching, or battling disease. Steady heartbeats, regulate blood pressure, restore immune systems, and calm anxious minds. Heal emotional scars that keep replaying old trauma. Lift the cloud of depression and break the grip of fear. Grant restorative sleep to those who lie awake at night. Strengthen caregivers who pour themselves out for others. Let Your healing power move through our bodies, our thoughts, and our inner wounds. Remind us that we are not abandoned in our weakness, for Your power is made perfect there.

Provision in the Everyday

God, we place our work, finances, and daily responsibilities before You. For those employed, bless their efforts with excellence, integrity, and favor. For those searching for jobs, open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Provide new opportunities, creative ideas, and divine connections. Break cycles of lack and constant pressure. Teach us to steward what we have with wisdom, generosity, and contentment. Calm
