Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 03, 2026
If you are reading this today, know this: God has not forgotten you. He sees the battles no one else sees, the questions you don’t say out loud, and the quiet tears that never make it to your pillow. On this October day, in the middle of your real life—bills, kids, deadlines, doctor’s reports, and unexpected phone calls—God is reaching for you with fresh hope. You do not have to have it all together to come to Him. You just have to be honest and open your heart. Today’s devotional is an invitation to exhale, to let God hold what you’ve been trying to carry alone, and to trust that He is still writing a good story with your life.
Anchored by a Promise
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse is more than a refrigerator magnet; it is a roadmap for confused hearts. God is not asking you to pretend you understand everything. He is asking you to stop leaning the full weight of your life on your limited perspective. When you submit your ways—your decisions, desires, timelines, and fears—to Him, He promises to go ahead of you and straighten out what you cannot fix. Your job is trust; His job is guidance. You do the trusting, and He does the leading.
When Life Feels Out of Control
Some days it feels like the ground keeps shifting under your feet. Plans fall through, people disappoint you, and the news only seems to stir more anxiety. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if God is actually paying attention. But faith grows when you decide to believe God’s character more than your circumstances. Today, choose one area where you’ve been trying to control everything—maybe your child’s future, your marriage, your health, or your finances. Pause and whisper, “Lord, I release this to You.” Then take a small step of obedience: send that encouraging text, make that doctor’s appointment, apply for that job, forgive that offense. Faith isn’t just a feeling; it shows up in tiny, practical choices that say, “God, I trust You more than my fear.”
Drawing Near in Faith
Heavenly Father, today we come to You hungry for more of You. Strengthen our faith where it has grown weak and tired. Remind us that You are not a distant God but a present, loving Father. We surrender our doubts, our timelines, and our expectations. Teach us to lean into Your Word instead of our worries. Help us grow spiritually—not just in knowledge, but in obedience, humility, and love. As we pray, rearrange our hearts so that Jesus is at the center of everything. When we feel pulled in a hundred directions, pull us back to Your voice, Your presence, and Your peace.
Covering Our Homes in Peace
Lord, we lift our families and relationships to You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, every broken place. Step into our homes with Your peace. Heal marriages that are hanging by a thread. Restore trust where it’s been damaged. Protect our children—biological, adopted, blended, or spiritual—and surround them with Your wisdom and favor. Break generational patterns of anger, addiction, and fear. Replace them with generational blessings of faith, joy, and unity. Let our homes be a sanctuary where Your presence is felt, where forgiveness is practiced, and where love is spoken out loud and often.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Soul
Jesus, You are our Healer. We bring every diagnosis, every ache, every secret anxiety before You. Touch our bodies with Your restoring power. Strengthen immune systems, regulate blood pressure, heal chronic pain, and bring relief where doctors are puzzled. Calm racing thoughts, lift heavy depression, and silence tormenting fears. Give us wisdom to steward our bodies—rest, nutrition, movement, and boundaries. Cover those caring for sick loved ones with extra strength and comfort. Let Your healing presence fill hospital rooms, bedrooms, and quiet corners where people feel alone in their pain. Remind us that nothing is too hard for You.
God in Our Work and Finances
Father, we place our jobs, businesses, education, and finances in Your hands. For those searching for work, open the right doors and close the wrong
