Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – October 26, 2026
If your heart feels a little tired today, you are not alone. Many of us wake up with a quiet ache we can’t quite name—worries about our kids, a doctor’s report, the bills on the counter, or simply the heaviness of the world. Yet right in the middle of all that, Jesus leans close and whispers, “I’m still here. I haven’t moved.” Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that God’s love is not fragile, and His grip on you is not slipping. Wherever you are reading this—from a kitchen table, a hospital room, or a parking lot between errands—this moment is holy ground because God meets you here.
Anchored in a Steadfast Promise
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) In a country and culture that seem to shift every few minutes, this verse is a solid rock under our feet. The same Jesus who calmed storms, healed broken bodies, and welcomed outcasts is the Jesus who stands in your today. He is not less powerful because our world feels more complicated. He is not less compassionate because our calendars are crowded. His character does not depend on our circumstances. When everything else feels uncertain, this verse invites you to breathe deep and remember: your Savior has not changed His mind about loving you, leading you, and carrying you.
Walking With Jesus in the Ordinary
Spiritual growth rarely happens in perfect conditions. It usually shows up in carpool lines, Zoom meetings, late-night worries, and whispered prayers over kitchen sinks. Today, instead of waiting for a “more spiritual” moment, invite Jesus into the one you’re in. When anxiety spikes about the future, pause and say, “Lord, You are the same today. Help me trust You right now.” When you feel invisible, remember that He sees every hidden act of faithfulness—every diaper changed, every spreadsheet finished, every tear wiped away. Growth isn’t about feeling spiritual all the time; it’s about turning toward God again and again, even when your emotions lag behind. The more you turn, the more your heart begins to rest.
Strengthening Faith in a Shifting World
Father, in a world that changes by the hour, strengthen our faith in You. Teach us to build our lives on who You are, not on how we feel. Where unbelief has slipped in quietly—through disappointments, unanswered prayers, or long delays—shine Your light. Help us trade fear for trust, and cynicism for childlike confidence. Draw us deeper into Your Word so we recognize Your voice above all the others shouting for our attention. Grow in us a faith that doesn’t collapse when storms come, but leans harder into Your faithful heart.
Grace Over Our Homes and Relationships
Lord Jesus, we place our families and relationships in Your hands. Cover our homes with Your peace. Heal the tension, the unspoken hurts, and the misunderstandings. Strengthen marriages, restore broken bonds between parents and children, and surround single parents with supernatural support. For those who feel alone, send godly friendships and church family who reflect Your love. Let forgiveness flow where bitterness has taken root. Make our homes places where Your presence is felt—in the conversations around the table, in the way we apologize, and in the way we choose patience over anger.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Heart
God our Healer, we lift our health to You—every diagnosis, every hidden symptom, every anxious thought. Touch sick bodies with Your healing power. Guide doctors, nurses, therapists, and caregivers with wisdom and skill. Calm racing minds and soothe weary hearts. For those battling depression, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion, breathe fresh hope. Remind us that You care about our sleep, our stress levels, and our tears. Replace fear of what might happen with confidence that You will be with us, whatever comes. Give us the grace to take wise steps—resting when we need to, seeking help, and caring for these bodies You’ve entrusted to us.
Provision in Work, Finances, and Calling
Provider God, we invite You into our work and finances. For those searching for a job, open doors that no one can shut. For those overwhelmed at work, grant strength, clarity, and favor. Bless business owners, students, and those in ministry with courage and integrity. Where money feels tight, remind us that our security is not in a paycheck but in
