Jentezen Franklin Daily Devotional – October 20, 2026: Holding On When You Feel Like Letting Go
If your heart feels tired today, you are not alone. Maybe you have prayed for years and nothing seems to change. Maybe fear keeps whispering, “This is how it will always be.” On days like this, faith can feel fragile. Yet right here, in the middle of your questions and weariness, God is leaning close. He sees every tear, hears every unspoken prayer, and He has not forgotten you. Today’s devotional is a simple invitation: don’t let go of God, because He has never let go of you.
Standing on God’s Word in the Waiting
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJV)
This verse is a lifeline when your emotions swing and your circumstances scream the opposite of what you are believing for. “Hold fast” means grip it like your life depends on it. Your hope is not in what you see, feel, or understand. Your hope is in the character of God. He is faithful. That means He is consistent, dependable, and incapable of breaking His word. The promise may seem delayed, but it is not denied. While you are waiting, God is working—often in ways you cannot see yet. Your job is not to figure out how He will do it; your job is to keep trusting that He will.
Living Hope in Real Life Struggles
Faith is not pretending everything is fine. Faith is bringing everything that is not fine into the presence of a God who can handle it. When you wake up to the same problem you had yesterday, speak truth over it: “Lord, I still believe You. I still trust You. I still know You are good.” Bring Scripture into your day. Write Hebrews 10:23 on a sticky note and put it on your mirror or dashboard. When fear rises, speak God’s promises out loud. Choose small acts of obedience—love someone hard to love, forgive again, give when you feel like holding back, worship when you feel numb. These simple steps become holy ground where your faith grows deeper roots.
Prayer for Faith and Deeper Trust
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my faith before You today. Strengthen what feels weak. Where doubt has crept in, wash my mind with Your truth. Remind me of every time You have come through in the past. Grow my spiritual appetite so I hunger for Your Word and Your presence more than anything else. Teach me to trust You when I do not understand. Help me surrender my timelines, my plans, and my expectations. Let my faith not be based on what You do for me, but on who You are to me. Draw me closer, deeper, and higher in You today. Amen.
Prayer for Family and Home
Lord, I lift my family and relationships to You. Step into every room of my home with Your peace. Heal broken communication, soften hard hearts, and restore what the enemy has tried to steal. Cover my spouse, children, parents, and loved ones with Your love and protection. Break generational patterns of fear, addiction, anger, and division. Replace them with unity, forgiveness, and joy. Let my home be a place where Your presence is welcome and Your name is honored. Help us to love each other well, to speak life, and to stand together in faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Prayer for Health and Emotional Healing
Jesus, You are my Healer. I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You right now. Where there is sickness, pain, or weakness, stretch out Your hand and bring healing and strength. Where there is anxiety, depression, or heaviness, breathe Your peace and calm my heart. Guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with wisdom. Help me make wise choices about rest, nutrition, and caring for the body You gave me. Heal wounds from past trauma and disappointment. Let Your love go to the deepest places in me and restore what was broken. I receive Your healing touch and Your perfect peace today. Amen.
Prayer for Work, Finances, and Provision
Father, You are my Source. I place my job, my career, my dreams, and my finances in Your hands. Open doors that no one can shut and close doors that are not from You. Give me favor with employers, coworkers, and clients. Help me
