Fresh Faith // Fresh Fruit (Part 7) // Michael Todd
Hi, my name is Amberly, and I’m honored to serve as one of the executive pastors here at Transformation Church. We want to express our sincere gratitude for you tuning in from wherever you’re watching. If you haven’t already, be sure to like and subscribe! We believe that God has a special word for you, so let’s dive into this powerful message.
I initially planned to end this series this week, but the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “I didn’t tell you to end it.” I thought, “Okay, cool, what’s next?” He told me to extend the series for two more weeks and take it all the way through Easter. At first, I thought I would deliver a different message for Easter, but He said the title for the Easter message would be Fresh Start. I was confused, so I asked God what He meant. He explained, “When I said ‘It is finished,’ I gave everyone an opportunity for a fresh start.” I thought, “That’s really good, God. You’re better than me!”
Then the Holy Spirit revealed something that initially made me feel intimidated, because I don’t have the full message yet. But He said, “The week after Easter, I want you to preach a message called ‘Fresh Fail’.” Honestly, I’m not fully sure what that means yet, but from what God has shown me so far, He said, “Your relationship with failure determines your relationship with faith.” So many people struggle to see the results of their faith because they are afraid to fail. But the Bible says that a righteous man may fall seven times, but what does he do? He gets up. I don’t fully understand this yet, but it’s something that’s brewing.
Today, I want to give you a key ingredient for making all of this fresh fruit stuff work. This entire year, we’ve been declaring that 2025 is a year of fruit for our church, but not just any fruit—fruit that doesn’t go stale. We’re not talking about the peace we felt in April, only to be filled with anxiety in October. God doesn’t want us to experience peace, love, or kindness seasonally. In Psalms, it says we can be like a tree planted by streams of living water, bearing fruit in every season, with leaves that never wither. I want to live like that!
God said that to experience lasting fruit, we need fresh fruit. Someone say fresh fruit. So, today, in week seven of Fresh Fruit, God gave me a specific instruction. He told me, “Michael, at the top of the message, write this down: Today, I’m going to teach you how to have fresh faith.” The truth is, most people don’t see fresh fruit because they don’t have fresh faith. Many are relying on the faith of past seasons, asking God for new things with old, stagnant faith. But faith is the fuel for the Christian life. It’s how we get saved, and without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Not because you’re a bad person, but because you can’t live the Christian life without faith. If you want to please God, you must obey Him, and you can’t obey Him without faith.
Faith begins where understanding ends. Unfortunately, most people stop where their understanding ends. They stop walking, stop believing, and say, “God, I’ll wait until it makes sense.” But God is not just waiting on you to understand; He is waiting for you to take action. Many of us have been waiting in the same place for years, expecting God to move when He is waiting on us. You’ve asked one person, but God said, “Ask ten.” Partial obedience doesn’t bring the full breakthrough.
This message isn’t just for new believers; it’s for those who have been faithfully serving, persevering for years. God is going to give you fresh faith to believe again. Some of us have seen God move powerfully in one season, but we grew tired of what it took to see that happen. We might say, “God, if You want to do it again, do it without me.” But God is asking us to move in crazy faith once again, to believe and act even in the smallest of steps, like talking to our neighbor or stepping out in ways that may feel intimidating. So let’s renew our faith today and step into the fresh things God has for us!
