Courage to Trust Again: Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional – October 03, 2026

If you’re reading this today feeling tired, a little worn out, or quietly wondering if God still sees you, this moment is for you. You might be carrying the weight of unanswered prayers, financial pressure, family conflict, or a health concern you haven’t even told anyone about. Maybe you’ve been following Jesus for years, yet there’s a hidden place in your heart where fear whispers, “What if God doesn’t show up this time?” Today, God is inviting you to breathe again, to unclench your fists, and to trust Him in a deeper way than before. You are not forgotten. You are not invisible. The God who called you is still working, even in what feels like silence.

Anchored by God’s Promise

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse isn’t just a pretty quote for a wall hanging; it’s a lifeline. Trusting “with all your heart” means surrendering the parts of your life that don’t make sense yet—the delays, the disappointments, the detours. “Lean not on your own understanding” invites you to admit that your perspective is limited. God sees what you can’t. As you submit your plans, dreams, and fears to Him today, His promise is clear: He will direct your path. Maybe not the way you expected, but always for your good and His glory.

Walking Through Today With Quiet Confidence

You may not be able to fix everything that concerns you today, but you can decide where you place your focus. Instead of rehearsing worst-case scenarios, you can rehearse God’s faithfulness. Think back to a time when you were sure things would fall apart—but they didn’t. Somehow, God made a way. That same God hasn’t changed. Practically, this might look like pausing before you open social media and whispering, “Jesus, I trust You.” It might mean choosing to forgive instead of re-opening an old argument, or tithing when money feels tight, simply because you’ve decided to trust God more than your fear. Small steps of obedience open big doors for God’s peace to flood your heart.

Growing Deeper in Faith and Surrender

Father, today I bring You my faith, as small and imperfect as it feels. I confess that I don’t always understand Your timing or Your ways, but I choose to trust that You are good. Grow my faith so that I don’t just believe in You when life feels easy, but also in the valleys and in the waiting. Teach me to hear Your voice through Scripture and the gentle nudging of Your Spirit. Strengthen my desire to obey You quickly, even when it costs me comfort or control. Break every lie that says I am alone, unseen, or too far gone. I surrender my plans, my preferences, and my pride. Jesus, be Lord over my decisions, my thoughts, and my emotions. Help me to stand firm in faith when fear knocks at the door of my heart. Amen.

Covering Our Homes With God’s Peace

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You right now. You know every tension, every unspoken hurt, every unmet need. Bring Your peace into our home and our relationships. Where there is distance, build bridges. Where there is anger, bring soft hearts and understanding. Protect our marriages, strengthen parents, and guide our children. Surround our loved ones who are far from You and gently draw them back to Your heart. Let forgiveness replace bitterness and kindness replace harsh words. May our homes become places of laughter, worship, and safety—refuges where Your presence is felt and Your love shapes every conversation. Cover our families with Your favor, unity, and supernatural protection today.

Health, Strength, and Renewed Wholeness

Heavenly Father, I place my body, mind, and emotions in Your hands. For every person battling sickness, pain, or chronic fatigue, I ask for healing in the name of Jesus. Strengthen immune systems, restore energy, and guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with divine wisdom. For those fighting anxiety, depression, or emotional heaviness, breathe Your peace into their souls. Replace worry with calm, confusion with clarity, and despair with hope.
