Beautiful Feet I Lisa Harper I Social Dallas

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

It is an absolute honor today to introduce someone who is not just a guest—she is family. Get ready to be blessed because some of you don’t even realize what you’re about to experience. Sometimes, preachers use hyperbole, but this is not one of those moments. Today, you are about to hear from one of the most profound Bible teachers in the body of Christ.

Lisa Harper is not searching for a pulpit—every single Sunday, she is preaching the Gospel somewhere across the United States or even around the world. I could talk about her precision and accuracy in teaching the Word of God, but let me take it a step further. Before we even planted our church—back when we were just a small gathering at Granada Theater with about a hundred people—Lisa came and preached. I’ll never forget going to dinner with her afterward. We were still unsure about planting a church, thinking it was just a gathering. Before the appetizers even hit the table, she looked at us and said, “You can call this a gathering if you want, but God has given you a church.” She spoke it before we ever stepped into it.

For that and so much more, I am incredibly grateful for her voice. She is our spiritual auntie, and we always want her to feel at home here. So, Social Dallas, make some noise for the incredible Lisa Harper!

A Message of Truth and Grace

I love you, I love you! Okay, y’all sit down, sit down—this is going to be church today! I just have to address the elephant in the room… I know some of y’all were expecting someone else. You saw Pastor Robert return from sabbatical and thought, “Oh, we’re getting a powerful word today!” And then, here I come—an old white woman. I get it. I get it. But let me remind you: the Bible says God uses the weak and the foolish—donkeys and even rocks—to proclaim His truth. So, let’s take Him at His Word this morning!

If I loved or respected Pastor Robert and Pastor Taylor any more than I already do, a restraining order might be necessary. It didn’t take a genius to see that this was a church three years ago. The anointing was evident—on this house, on your pastors, on this entire community. Being here, running toward Jesus with you all, is an honor beyond words.

Now, I have to warn you about something—I’m a spitter. Not on purpose, but when I get excited about the Word of God, I tend to spew. So, congratulations to those of you in the front row—you’re about to experience a baptism you didn’t sign up for!

Encountering a Personal and Powerful God

I want you to do something. Reach out and touch the person next to you. When you do that, you are proclaiming your faith in an unshakable Kingdom, in a God who is not a distant bystander but an up-close and personal Savior. He is perfectly holy and transcendent, yet He chooses to draw near to us—even here, in a place like this. What a good and kind God we serve!

His willingness to be close does not diminish His majesty. This truth is central to our faith—it’s called the hypostatic union. It’s a big theological term, but simply put, it means that Jesus is fully God and fully man at the same time. Now, if you tell me you completely understand that, I might just have to call you out—because it’s beyond human comprehension!

But here’s the beauty of it: If God were only transcendent, we would have to worship Him from a distance. Instead, He chooses to be near. He invites us into relationship.

A Prayer for This Moment

Would you take a moment to pray for the person next to you? I know some of you are new here—I saw a lot of first-time visitors today. And maybe this makes you uncomfortable. Maybe you don’t even like the person you’re sitting next to (hey, it could be your mother-in-law who dragged you here this morning). But would you just take a moment?

If you know Jesus, pray for the person next to you. And if you don’t, I challenge you—be honest enough to pray for yourself. Ask God that if He is real, He would reveal Himself to you today. Pray that we would have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts ready to receive every seed He wants to plant through His Word.

Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
King Jesus. Lord Jesus. The Christ. The Messiah. The Anointed One. The Lion and the Lamb. The Alpha and the Omega. The Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley. The One who sticks closer than a brother.

Jesus, we confess as your sons and daughters…

(And the prayer continues…)
