Alistair Begg Daily Devotional – October 22, 2026

If your heart feels a little worn today—tired from the headlines, the pressures, the private battles no one else sees—you are not alone. God has not forgotten you. On this October 22, 2026, pause for a moment and imagine your heavenly Father leaning in, listening, caring, and inviting you to rest in His promises. As Alistair Begg so often reminds us, our stability does not come from our emotions or our circumstances, but from the unchanging character of God revealed in His Word. This devotional is a quiet space for you to breathe, refocus, and turn your eyes back to the Lord who holds your life in His hands.

Anchored by a Better Hope

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23, ESV) This verse calls us to cling tightly to the hope we have in Christ, not because we are strong, but because God is faithful. Your hope is not anchored in your ability to stay positive or to figure everything out. It rests in the One who never lies, never fails, and never changes. When doubts come, when stress mounts, when you feel like you’re hanging on by a thread, remember: God’s promises are stronger than your wavering heart. He will finish what He started in you, and His faithfulness is the solid ground beneath your feet today.

Living Steady in an Unsteady World

Every day brings new pressures—news alerts, family needs, deadlines, bills. It’s easy to live on edge, constantly reacting instead of resting. Yet the gospel calls us to a better way. Start your day by preaching truth to your own heart: “God is on the throne. Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ will come again. I am loved, chosen, forgiven, and secure.” Then take one step at a time. Open your Bible before you open your phone. Whisper a prayer before you answer that email. Choose gratitude instead of grumbling. When you fail—and you will—run quickly to the cross, not away from it. Today’s goal is not perfection; it is dependence. As you lean into God, you will find that He meets you with fresh strength, quiet courage, and a peace this world cannot give.

Drawing Near in Faith

Father, today I ask for a deeper, steadier faith. When fears whisper that I am alone, remind me that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Grow in me a hunger for Your Word and a delight in Your presence. Help me to trust You not only with eternity but with the details of this very day. Teach me to surrender my plans and invite You into my decisions. Where my faith feels fragile, breathe life and courage into my soul. Shape my desires so they align with Your will. Guard my mind from unbelief and my heart from bitterness. Let my faith not be a Sunday-only experience, but a living, daily confidence in Your goodness and sovereignty over every part of my story.

Grace Over Every Household

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our homes with Your peace. Heal what is broken between spouses, parents and children, siblings, and friends. Where there has been harsh words, bring repentance and tenderness. Protect our families from division, resentment, and spiritual apathy. Draw each person closer to Jesus, whether they are walking faithfully or wandering far. Give wisdom to parents, compassion to children, and patience to all. Let our homes in this nation be small pictures of Your kingdom—places of forgiveness, prayer, Scripture, laughter, and safety. May Your love shape how we speak, how we listen, and how we serve one another today.

Health, Healing, and Inner Strength

God of all comfort, I bring You my body, my mind, and my emotions. You know the aches, diagnoses, and hidden struggles that no one else fully understands. I ask for Your healing touch—restore what is broken, calm what is anxious, strengthen what is weak. For medical appointments, treatments, and test results, please go before me. Guide doctors and caregivers with wisdom and skill. Guard my heart from fear, and let Your presence be my steady companion in every waiting room and sleepless night. Where healing is slow, pour out perseverance. Where pain is deep, pour out supernatural comfort. Remind me that my body may be fragile, but my life is safely held in Your strong hands.
