Daily Devotional with Dr. David Jeremiah – October 22, 2026

This new day has already been written into God’s calendar of grace, and you are not stepping into it alone. Whether you woke up hopeful or heavy-hearted, the Lord sees you, knows what you’re carrying, and invites you to walk closely with Him. Today, let this devotional draw your heart back to the simple but powerful truth: God is faithful, God is near, and God is working—all at the same time. As you read, open your hands, quiet your soul, and let the Holy Spirit remind you that your life is held in nail-scarred hands that will not let you go.

Anchored in a Certain Promise

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV) In a world that keeps shifting under our feet—news cycles, financial markets, health reports, and even relationships—this verse is a rock under your soul. The same Jesus who saved you, comforted you in past storms, and carried you through nights you thought would never end is the same Jesus who stands in your today and has already gone ahead into your tomorrow. His character doesn’t change with circumstances. He is not more loving on your good days and less loving on your bad days. He is steadfast, unchanging, and reliable. When everything else feels fragile, you can build your day on this unshakable truth.

Living Steadfast in an Unsteady World

Because Christ never changes, you don’t have to live at the mercy of your emotions, your schedule, or the latest headlines. You can choose to root your thoughts in what God says instead of what fear whispers. That might look like pausing before you pick up your phone in the morning and whispering, “Lord, this day belongs to You.” It might mean turning anxiety into an arrow that points you back to prayer: “Jesus, You’re the same. Help me trust You right here.” You grow spiritually not by feeling strong all the time, but by returning to Him again and again. Today, practice small acts of faith—offer kindness when you feel rushed, speak a gentle word when you’re tired, give thanks when you’d rather complain. These simple choices become places where God’s unchanging grace shows up in your very ordinary day.

Drawing Near in Faith and Growth

Father, in Jesus’ name, I come to You with my heart open. Strengthen my faith today. When doubts whisper and fear rises, remind me that Your Word is truer than my feelings. Teach me to trust You when I can’t see the outcome and to lean on Your promises when my own understanding runs thin. Grow in me a deeper hunger for Your presence; stir my heart to love Your Word, to listen for Your voice, and to obey even when it’s costly. Help me lay down stubborn habits, hidden sins, and old wounds at the feet of the cross. Shape my character to look more like Jesus—patient, gentle, bold in truth, and rich in love. Let my faith not be confined to Sunday services but woven into every moment of this day. And as I grow, use my life as a quiet testimony that You are real, You are good, and You never change.

Grace Over Our Homes and Relationships

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our home with Your peace and presence. Where there is tension, bring understanding. Where there are unspoken hurts, bring gentle healing. Restore broken relationships, soften hardened hearts, and help us to forgive as You have forgiven us. Guard our conversations so that our words build up instead of tearing down. Draw our children and grandchildren close to You—let them know You not just by what they hear at church, but by what they see in our lives. Protect our marriages, our friendships, and our extended families from division and bitterness. Let our home be a place where Your name is honored, where prayer is normal, and where grace is given freely. Surround our loved ones today, near and far, and remind them that they are deeply loved by You.

Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul

Heavenly Father, I bring my health and the health of those I love before You. For every diagnosis, every ache, and every silent worry about our bodies, we choose to trust Your wisdom and care. Grant strength to the weary, relief to those in pain, and courage to those walking through treatment and recovery. Calm anxious thoughts and racing minds; replace fear with the steady assurance that You
