Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – October 17, 2026
As a new day begins across our nation, God is already awake, already present, already thinking of you. He knows the things you’re carrying—the decisions waiting on your desk, the tensions in your home, the quiet fears you don’t talk about with anyone. Today’s devotional is an invitation to pause right here, take a deep breath, and remember that you are not walking through this day alone. The same God who saved you is the God who will sustain you, lead you, and protect you. Let this time of prayer and reflection rekindle your hope, strengthen your faith, and draw your heart closer to Jesus.
Anchored by God’s Promises
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV)
Everything around us shifts—economy, culture, health, friendships, even our own emotions. But Jesus does not change. The Jesus who saved the woman caught in adultery, who fed the five thousand, who calmed the storm, is the same Jesus who looks at your life today and says, “I am here. I have not moved.” This verse lifts us above the chaos of the moment and plants us on something solid: Christ’s unchanging nature. When you feel unstable, you can lean your full weight on this truth. What He promised then, He still means now. His mercy has not expired. His power has not weakened. His love has not cooled. This is where real peace begins.
Walking with Jesus in the Ordinary Moments
Most of life is lived in the ordinary—commutes, emails, laundry, errands, conversations. Yet God’s presence is just as real in the ordinary as it is in the sanctuary. Today, invite the Lord into each place you go. When you feel pressure at work, whisper, “Lord, guide me.” When there’s tension at home, quietly pray, “Jesus, bring Your peace into this room.” When anxiety creeps in, breathe, “Father, I trust You with this.” Spiritual growth doesn’t happen only in big moments; it grows in small, repeated choices to turn your heart Godward. Let Scripture shape your thinking, talk with God through the day, and choose obedience in the small things. That is how faith becomes steady, joy goes deeper, and your life begins to look more like Jesus, even in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday.
Praying for Deeper Faith and Steady Trust
Lord Jesus, today I ask You to grow my faith. When I’m tempted to rely on my feelings, draw me back to Your Word. Teach me to trust You when I can’t see the outcome, and to cling to Your promises when my circumstances feel loud and overwhelming. Strengthen my spiritual discipline—help me to love Your Word, to seek You in prayer, and to listen for Your voice. Where my faith is weak, be my strength. Where my heart is restless, be my peace. Holy Spirit, shape my desires so that I long for what pleases You and turn away from what pulls me from Your presence. Let this day be marked by quiet, steady trust in a faithful God.
Placing Our Families in God’s Hands
Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every relationship, every unspoken hurt, every burden they carry. Bring healing where there is division, understanding where there is conflict, and tenderness where hearts have grown cold. Cover our home with Your peace. Let our conversations be seasoned with grace and patience. Protect our marriages, guard our children, and draw our wandering loved ones back to You. May our homes be places where Your name is honored, where forgiveness flows freely, and where Your presence is felt in real, tangible ways. Help us to love each other the way You have loved us—sacrificially, consistently, and without conditions.
Seeking Health, Healing, and Inner Strength
Lord, You know every ache, diagnosis, and quiet fear about our bodies and minds. I bring my health and the health of those I love before You. For those battling sickness, chronic pain, or ongoing treatment, would You stretch out Your hand and bring healing? Give doctors wisdom and skill. Strengthen immune systems, calm anxious thoughts, and restore what has been damaged. For emotional wounds—depression, anxiety, grief, trauma—shine Your light into the dark places. Remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and give us grace to care for them with wisdom.
