Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – October 13, 2026
If you woke up today feeling a little worn out, a little unsure, or even a little afraid of what’s ahead, you are not alone. God sees you this very moment—right where you are, in the middle of your real-life struggles and questions. This daily devotional, inspired by the heart of Pastor Greg Laurie’s gospel-centered preaching, is for every believer who needs fresh hope, renewed faith, and a reminder that Jesus has not let go of you. Today, let God’s Word steady your heart, quiet your anxiety, and lift your eyes from the pressures of this world to the unshakable promises of your Savior.
Anchored by a Greater Hope
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)
When everything around you feels unstable—politics, culture, finances, even your own emotions—this verse stands like a rock in a raging river. People change. Circumstances shift. News headlines scream new fears every day. But Jesus does not change. The same Lord who saved you, forgave you, and carried you through past storms is holding you today. His character is steady, His love is unwavering, and His promises are still true. Let this become the foundation of your peace: not that life is predictable, but that your Savior is.
Living Steady in an Unsteady World
Because Christ is unchanging, you don’t have to ride the roller coaster of every emotion or headline. You can respond instead of react. Today, choose one area you’ve been worrying about—maybe your kids, your health, your job, or your bank account—and intentionally place it in Jesus’ hands. Say out loud, “Lord, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I trust You with this.” Then act like He heard you, because He did. Stay faithful in the small things: open your Bible, whisper prayers throughout the day, show kindness when you feel stressed, walk in honesty and integrity at work. These quiet, daily choices grow deep spiritual roots that will hold when the winds rise.
Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender
Heavenly Father, today I bring my faith, weak and trembling as it sometimes feels, and I lay it before You. Strengthen my heart to trust what You say more than what I see. Where doubt has crept in, replace it with fresh confidence in Your Word. Grow me beyond a shallow, Sunday-only faith into a daily, living walk with You. Help me surrender my plans, my timelines, and my expectations, knowing Your ways are higher and better. Holy Spirit, fill me again. Give me a hunger for Scripture, a tenderness to Your conviction, and a boldness to obey, even when it’s costly. Teach me to listen for Your voice in the ordinary moments, so that my whole life becomes an act of worship.
Grace Over Our Homes and Loved Ones
Lord Jesus, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our homes with Your peace. Heal what’s broken in our relationships—misunderstandings, harsh words, silent distances. Soften our hearts toward one another. Break patterns of anger, addiction, and fear, and replace them with forgiveness, compassion, and joy. Protect our children and grandchildren—keep them from destructive influences and draw them close to You. For those in our families who are far from You, awaken their hearts. Let our homes be marked not by constant tension but by the gentle evidence of Your presence: laughter, prayer, grace when we fail, and love that refuses to give up.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Soul
Father, You know every pain, diagnosis, and hidden ache. I ask for Your healing touch over my body and the bodies of those I love. Give doctors wisdom, treatments effectiveness, and our bodies strength. For chronic pain, bring relief. For serious illness, pour out Your mercy and power. And Lord, heal what we can’t see—the anxiety, depression, grief, and exhaustion we often hide. Speak peace to racing thoughts. Replace fear-filled imaginations with Your truth. Remind us that even in weakness, Your strength is made perfect. Help us care for our bodies as Your temples, while resting in the greater hope that one day we will be completely whole in Your presence.
