Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 4, 2026

Some mornings you wake up with questions that feel heavier than the blankets on your bed. “God, are You really working in this? Do You still have a plan for me? Am I behind?” If that’s you today, you’re not alone. God is not intimidated by your doubts or your delays. He’s inviting you, right here and right now, to lean in closer, to trust Him deeper, and to believe that what He started in you, He will finish. As you read this devotional and pray through each section, let your heart breathe again. You are seen. You are loved. And your story is not over.

Anchored by a Promise

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)

Paul wrote these words from prison, not from a place of comfort or certainty about his circumstances. Yet he had absolute confidence in God’s ability to finish what He started. This verse reminds you that your life is not random. God Himself began a good work in you—through salvation, through the calling on your life, through the gifts and dreams He placed in your heart. Even when you feel stuck, God is still moving. He doesn’t abandon projects midway. He doesn’t walk away when you struggle. He is committed to your growth, your healing, and your destiny in Christ, from the first “yes” to Jesus all the way to the finish line.

Walking Out Faith in the Everyday

Trusting God isn’t just for Sundays or emotionally charged worship moments; it’s for ordinary Mondays, messy Wednesdays, and exhausted Fridays. When the email doesn’t come, when the diagnosis rattles you, when your child pushes every boundary, faith looks like one more step of obedience. Maybe today that means forgiving someone who hasn’t apologized. Maybe it’s choosing to worship when your feelings are numb. Perhaps it’s turning off the noise for ten minutes and whispering, “Lord, I’m scared, but I trust You.” Spiritual growth happens most in the unseen, in those small, repeated choices to invite God into your schedule, your conversations, and your inner battles. As you do, your roots sink deeper, and your heart becomes anchored, not to outcomes, but to the unchanging character of God.

Drawing Closer in Faith

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith to You—weak, wobbly, or strong—just as it is. Grow in me a deeper trust that doesn’t fluctuate with my emotions or circumstances. Help me to believe that You are good, even when life feels anything but good. Strip away the lies I’ve believed about You and about myself. Teach me to hear Your voice in the middle of noise and confusion. Holy Spirit, stir my hunger for Your Word and Your presence. I don’t want a distant, secondhand relationship with You; I want a vibrant, real, daily walk. Strengthen my spirit to obey quickly when You lead, and to rest fully when You ask me to wait. May every step I take today reflect a heart that is learning to lean, not on my own understanding, but on You alone.

Covering Our Homes in Peace

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every unspoken tension, every fear, every unhealed wound. I ask You to flood our home with Your peace—not the fragile peace that depends on everyone behaving perfectly, but the deep peace that flows from Your presence. Heal broken communication between spouses, parents, and children. Give us tenderness instead of harshness, understanding instead of assumptions, grace instead of grudges. Protect our marriages from division and distraction. Guard our children’s hearts and minds from confusion and shame. Let our homes be places of prayer, laughter, and restoration—safe spaces where Your love is felt and Your name is honored.

Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul

Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I place my health and the health of my loved ones into Your hands. For every sickness, chronic pain, or diagnosis, I ask for healing, wisdom, and strength. Guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with insight from above. For anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion, pour out Your comfort and clarity. Replace fear with faith, heaviness with hope, and restlessness with Your calming presence. Teach me to honor You with my body—through rest, wise choices, and self-control
