Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – May 31, 2026

If your heart feels a little worn today, you are not alone. Maybe you woke up with a knot of worry in your stomach, or you’re carrying a quiet ache you haven’t even had words for. Right here, in this ordinary May morning, Jesus is leaning in close. He is not waiting for a more polished version of you—He wants the real you, as you are, right now. Let this devotional become a slow, deep breath for your soul, a moment to remember that your story is held by a faithful God who has never once lost track of you.

Anchored by a Promise

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) In a world that shifts beneath our feet, this verse is like holy bedrock. The same Jesus who calmed storms, healed the broken, and fed the hungry is the One standing beside you this very day. He has not changed His mind about you. His love has not thinned out over time. When your emotions rise and fall, His character remains steady, strong, and sure. You can lean your full weight on Him without fear that He will move away.

Walking Through Today With Steady Hope

Because Jesus is unchanging, you don’t have to be crushed by changing circumstances. You may not know how this week will unfold, but you do know Who walks through it with you. When anxiety whispers, “What if it all falls apart?” you can answer, “Even then, Christ will still be enough.” Practically, this means pausing before you react, and inviting the Lord into the moment: “Jesus, You are the same right now as You were in Scripture. Be my wisdom in this conversation. Be my peace in this traffic. Be my strength in this meeting.” These simple, honest prayers turn ordinary minutes into sacred space, and slowly train your heart to trust instead of panic.

Opening Our Hearts in Faith

Father, in the name of Jesus, we bring our faith—small or large, trembling or steady—and place it in Your hands. Grow in us a deeper confidence in Your goodness. Teach us to trust You when we don’t understand, to cling to Your Word when our feelings shout the opposite. Holy Spirit, soften the hard places in our hearts, break the power of shame and fear, and revive our first love for You. Let today be a step forward in spiritual maturity, where we choose obedience over comfort, worship over worry, and gratitude over grumbling. May our faith not be a Sunday-only accessory, but a living, breathing trust that shapes every corner of our daily lives.

Covering Our Homes in God’s Peace

Lord, we lift our families and relationships to You. Step into our homes with Your healing presence. Where there has been tension, speak peace. Where words have wounded, bring gentle repentance and deep forgiveness. Strengthen marriages, comfort single parents, and wrap Your arms around those who feel alone. Unite parents and children with understanding and patience. Guard our households from division, bitterness, and comparison. Let our homes become places where Your name is honored, where laughter is welcome, where Your Word is read, and where weary hearts find rest. Surround our loved ones—near and far—with Your protection, and draw those who don’t yet know You into Your saving love.

Health, Healing, and Inner Strength

Jesus, You are our Healer. We place our bodies, minds, and emotions before You. For those battling chronic pain, serious diagnosis, or silent struggles, stretch out Your hand to heal, restore, and renew. Strengthen immune systems, calm inflamed nerves, regulate hormones, and bring rest to exhausted minds. For anxiety, depression, and inner turmoil, we ask for Your supernatural peace to settle like a warm blanket on our souls. Teach us to care for these bodies You’ve given us with wisdom—through rest, healthy choices, and boundaries. Remind us that we are not just “problems to fix,” but beloved sons and daughters whose very breath is precious in Your sight.

Work, Finances, and Daily Provision

Faithful God, we bring our jobs, businesses, studies, and finances before Your throne. You see the bills, the deadlines, the performance reviews, the unspoken fears about the future. Provide in ways that clearly point back to Your kindness. Open doors that no one can shut, and shut doors that are not from You. Grant creativity, diligence, and
