Business & The Kingdom – Stephanie Ike Okafor
Understanding the Role of Business in the Kingdom: Modernizing Witchcraft – Part 4
Welcome, everyone! It’s Stephanie Ikea Okafor here, and today we dive into Part 4 of our series on the Modernization of Witchcraft. In the previous episode, we explored the spiritual gates, specifically the air and eye gates, and discussed the importance of guarding them. These gates open us up to spiritual interactions, whether with beings of God or Satan. It’s crucial to practice discipline and discernment in what we watch and listen to, as these influences shape our spiritual experiences.
If you haven’t watched the previous parts, I highly recommend you catch up, as they lay the foundation for today’s topic. In this episode, we’ll discuss the significant role that business plays in the Kingdom of God.
The Intersection of Faith and Business
When we speak about the “modernization of witchcraft,” we’re referring to the rebellion against God. As believers, we often compartmentalize our lives into separate spheres: our faith and worship on Sundays, and our business and careers in another realm. However, we must recognize that business, our careers, and the industries we engage in all play an essential role in the Kingdom of God.
Let me share a passage from the Book of Daniel (Daniel 1:3-8). The entire book offers profound lessons, not just about the Babylonian Empire, but about the systems at work. When reading scripture, you’re not just learning about a historical event or empire; you’re uncovering spiritual systems and patterns—especially the influence of Satan.
For instance, consider the story of Jezebel in the Bible. At first glance, Jezebel is simply a historical figure—a witch who opposed God. But if you study her life and family history, you uncover that her actions were influenced by a deeply rooted pattern of idol worship. This pattern of rebellion against God isn’t confined to one individual; it reflects a demonic system that has persisted throughout history. The spirit of Jezebel is mentioned again in Revelation, showing that it was not just a one-time event but a spiritual force that continues to influence the world today.
Understanding God’s Patterns in Leadership
When you study the lives of kings and leaders in the Bible, you’re not only learning about their reigns but also understanding the spiritual forces that shaped their rule. For example, when God appointed King David, He was looking for a heart loyal to Him, not just someone with political power. David’s anointing came before his physical position as king, which shows a key principle: God often gives spiritual authority before physical authority.
This pattern is critical to understand as you pursue your calling. You may be called to a position of leadership or influence, but it doesn’t always look like what the world expects. God’s kingdom operates differently. His word establishes authority, and in His time, He positions His leaders according to His will. This principle is evident in David’s defeat of Goliath, a task that was traditionally the king’s responsibility.
Embracing God’s Leadership in Your Career
Understanding the patterns of God and Satan helps us see the bigger picture in our lives. God’s authority precedes physical authority. When you align yourself with God’s plans for your career, business, and life, you embrace a greater spiritual purpose. It’s important to recognize that your work and talents play a role in advancing God’s Kingdom.
