In this episode of “In Touch,” part four of the series “My Assurance: God Is in Control,” Dr. Charles Stanley explores profound questions about salvation. Have you ever paused to thank God for your salvation? Have you wondered if you came to God first, or if He chose you before time began? The Bible says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved,” yet also reveals that we were “Chosen in Him before the foundation of the world.” Dr. Stanley helps us reconcile these truths and dives into the importance of sharing the gospel, even though God already knows who will be saved.

In Psalm 103, we’re reminded of God’s sovereignty. Verse 19 declares, “The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all.” This means that God’s supreme authority and power extend over the entire universe and every person within it. Every detail of our lives is within His control. Reflecting on this, we must consider our own salvation: was it purely our decision, or was God already at work?

Dr. Stanley clarifies what salvation truly is—a deliverance from the guilt, penalty, and punishment of sin. Sin separates us from God, bringing about alienation, divine wrath, and eternal death. Salvation is God’s rescue plan, leading us into a restored relationship with Him, transforming us from His enemies into His children. It grants us the gift of eternal life, hope, and love.

If you’ve never placed your trust in Jesus Christ, understand where you are—under sin’s penalty and alienation from God. But know that God offers you hope, love, and everlasting life. Accept His promise of salvation today.
