2nd Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 says, for god gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power, and love, and self control.
The amplified translation elaborates and says for god did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but he has given us a spirit of power, and of love, and of sound judgment, and personal discipline, abilities result in calm, well balanced mind and self control.
Fear is a spirit.
The Bible does not say God did not give us a feeling or an emotion called fear. No.
It says he didn’t give us a spirit of fear.
The spirit of fear lies, The spirit of fear comes to sabotage The spirit of fear is one of the devil’s weapons of choice because of how it can consume the mind and heart of a person.
as children of gone. We need to know this and rebuke this spirit from our lives.
In the innermost parts of our heart, We need to be convicted, persuaded, and sure that god has given us a spirit of love.
power, and a sound mind. Nowhere on that list, does it say god gave us a spirit of fear?
So why do so many of us accept it in our lives?
Why do we fall victim to it? Time and time again?
Pray against the spirit and rebuke it from your life saints.
There is power in the name of Jesus Christ, There is power in the blood of Jesus Christ.
And as children of god, we ought to know this We ought to come against the spirit by making sure we are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.
We can come against the spirit of fear by making sure our lives are anchored in god’s word and in his promise.
As you build your faith, you block out the spirit of fear.
Fear and faith do not mix. They are complete opposites.
So if you’ll take just one thing away from my message today, Let it be this.
God has not given you a spirit of fear.
He has given you a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
Fear is a liar. get all that god has done.
One definition of fear says, fear is false evidence appearing real.
You see, fear creates a cloud that makes you think you are alone.
It creates a cloud that makes you blind to God’s promises and his word.
And one way fear manifests itself in today’s society is in the prevalence of anxiety to sword and stress related diseases.
People are anxious about their job security. People are worried about their financial situations.
People are stressed about their marriages or relationships. And do you know what all of this does?
it conjures up the spirit of fear. The Bible says fear is a spirit.
Now, people fear things that they cannot control.
This is why Jesus invites us or commands us not to worry.
Matthew chapter 6, verse 25, tells us.
Therefore, I say to you, do not worry a about your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink.
Nor about your body, what you will put on is not life more than food, and the body, more than clothing.
Jesus goes on to say in verse 33, but seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Jesus is telling us to let of the illusion that we are the ones in control.
Because while we are not in control, god sovereign. He’s always in control.
While we don’t know the future, god is already in the future.
While we can’t let go of the past, god is already working out your present and your future.
Now, let us pray.
Father, I pray in agreement with everyone listening.
We receive your word, and we will not be anxious. We will not have anxious hearts.
We will not have panic stricken hearts because the hand of god almighty is over us.
The lord of hosts watches over us. The god of the ages is our deliverer.
And if god is for us, who can be against us?
If god is for us, there is no room for fear.
As long as you lord are with us and for us, fear has been defeated in our lives.
The devil has been defeated, and he has no power over us.
The strength to overcome fear anxiety, and worry comes from you, King Jesus.
Give us the strength to stand in the face of opposition and in a world filled with fear and declare that Jesus Christ has not given us a spirit of fear or a spirit of timidity or cowardice, but he has given us a spirit of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline.
I believe and declare that the lord has given us the grace to live a life that is filled with peace and joy.
with a well balanced mind and self control.
Father, your word in Joshua 1 verse 9 says, Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed.
For the lord your god is with you wherever you go.
I pray lord Jesus that you would empower us to stand when the spirit of fear wants us to fall.
Give us strength and courage when the spirit of fear wants us to be weak and afraid.
We are blessed, and we rejoice at the knowledge that you lord god are with us wherever we go.
Lord, we humble ourselves. We submit and surrender to you, a mighty god.
I pray that you would help us to set aside self righteous pride.
Help us to set aside any thoughts that tell us that we are strong in our own strength.
Instead, we cast all of our cares, all of our anxieties, all of our worries, and all our concerns, we cast them all to you, lord Jesus.
We cast them to you because you are a god who cares about us with the deepest affection.
And you continually watch over us.
Your word in 1st Chronicles 28 verse 20 says Be strong and courageous and do it.
Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed for the lord god, even my god. is with you.
He will not leave you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the lord is finished.
May your word be established in our lives? May your word be the anchor of our lives?
We will not fear in Jesus name because you, lord, will never leave us or forsake us.
Lord, you are a mighty and all powerful god.
As your children, we are thankful for your protection. thank you for being our safe place, lord.
Thank you for being our refuge.
Lord Jesus, We are thankful for your but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual force of evil in rely on you as both our protector and protection.
So should we face any evil opposition we declare no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
Should we face any principalities or powers of darkness then we can stand and declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
We need your heavenly protection, father.
Your word says, the angel of the lord encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them Oh, taste and see that the lord is good.
Blest is the man who trusts in him Thank you for your promise of protection.
A Psalm that offers such a blessed hope.
I pray that your angels to encamp around me in my home and to offer me divine protection from the enemy.
strengthen us that we will be able to withstand strengthen us to be able to withstand any attacks from the enemy.
Give us the power we need to overcome the enemy’s attacks.
Give us peace so that we will not allow fear and anxiety to hold us back.
We put our trust in you as our ultimate source of divine protection.
As your children, we refuse to let anxiety or fear become our companion.
Help us to trust in you and not to worry.
Help us to trust in your ability to keep us safe and secure.
We are blessed because I am under the care of jehovah.
We are blessed because you watch over us each and every day.
We are blessed and protected because you go before us, lord Jesus, and watch over our coming in and going out.
And so this means, we will rejoice always because of you.
We will put our faith in you regardless of what we’re facing.
a plan for our lives that is divine in purpose.
I thank you today for blessing me with peace.
Thank you for blessing me with a calm spirit and a heart and is not troubled.
Lord, I pray that you would help me so that the things of this world may not affect me so much that they would result in me losing my peace.
grant me the grace lord to face my mountains.
To face my goliath with no year, but rather with an assured confidence that my lord will deliver.
He will uplift me and protect me from allheart. thank you for listening to my prayer.
